Chapter 21| When Everything Fall ASHELY I fell everything, every inch from my body. I knew, I was dying but did I really deserve this. I just wanted to be happy with Daniel, I just wanted him to love me that's all I ever wanted. I turned my head, as I saw Anna talking to me, but I was just so cold. I feel my eyes began to shut.

One second of letting it land. Then he stepped backward off the Precipice. The fall wasn't what he expected. He'd imagined it would feel like failure, like punishment, like the cold certainty of a door slamming shut behind him. Instead it felt like exhaling for the first time after holding his breath for ten thousand years. His lungs expanded. His whole body expanded. The rigid, perfect, unbearable structure of Heaven fell away above him like a shell he'd finally cracked open, and underneath it he was soft and new and terrifyingly alive.

FALLING MAN NOELLE'S POV I couldn’t stop crying. The moment I closed the apartment door behind me, the weight of everything crashed down like a wave I could no longer hold back. My legs gave out beneath me. I slid down the wall until I was sitting on the cold hardwood floor, knees pulled tightly to my chest, sobbing so hard my entire body shook. Everything hurts.

Kael frowned through rising tension. “The what-layer?” The First Memory didn’t answer. Because the sky answered instead. The crack widened again. And something began to descend. Slowly. Silently. At first, it looked like light. But it wasn’t. It was absence. A shape that erased color around it. Where it moved, reality softened. Edges blurred. Space forgot itself. Nova fell to her knees. Her hands pressed against her head. The voices inside her were screaming now. Not in fear. In recognition.

Everything inside me goes still. My mind tries to reject it, but my body reacts first. My eyes stay locked on the words in disbelief. My knees buckle. The book falls from my hand and lands on the floor with a heavy thud. I barely feel myself going down. One second ago I was standing, and now I am on the ground. The cold stone bites into my palms as I try to steady myself too late. The hidden library looks like what they haven’t taken care of in a long while, so the floor looks dirty and rusted.

Not to mention that I don't have a good appetite. I fely dizzy this morning but I ignored it. I felt the world is spinning around and I walked out from the cafeteria a little tipsy. I leaned to the lockers for support and tried my best to walk towards my locker. Once I got to my locker, I grabbed a medicine and drank it. I stood there for a moment before I dropped my body to the ground and darkness slowly hugged me. "Cassie.. Cassie.." I opened my eyes slowy and found my sister sitting next to me.

Damn it, always forgetful. Upstairs, it was the same; there was no one around. As soon as I opened the doors to Spencer's office, I noticed the mess. Papers were scattered everywhere, an empty liquor bottle, and... I swallowed hard... a pair of panties. It was a damn thong lying on the floor.

Her mind blurred, This wasn’t death, It was unmaking. She landed hard, But not on stone or soil, She fell into herself A cavernous realm lit by blood-colored stars, veins of fire curling through impossible skies, She stood in the Ash Crown’s heart. The god itself pulsed in the distance, immense, sprawling, unformed.

It fell open, revealing its contents to me. It was the paper on which I'd written my last words. Marcus had written his version on the back of it. "Most of my life has to do with Renee Granger. I was so used to having her around that my first reaction was disbelief when she thoroughly uprooted herself and left me. Perhaps it's not that I don't believe it—it's more like I don't have the courage to believe it.

The moonstone ring hit the floor and shattered into two pieces. Due to momentum, I pitched forward. Dante's expression changed as he moved to help me, but Nova screamed and fell to the side. He immediately turned around, abandoning me to reach out and catch her instead. As I was worried about hurting my stomach, I fell on my knees, hitting the ground directly. The pain brought tears to my eyes. My face went pale, and cold sweat instantly broke out on my forehead. Along with my fall, Nova also screamed and tumbled backward. Her eyes reddened as she looked at me pitifully, making herself appear innocent.
