She hesitated, staring at it longer than expected, but after his hand fidgeted due to staying in an uncomfortable position for long, she reached for it. “It should help,” it was Damon's baritone voice. “Hope in the dark?” She asked, with her eyes fixed on the novel and a hint of confusion playing in her eyes. “By Rebecca Salnit, yes,” he completed, and a sip of the coffee followed. “You should try it out.”

Inside, she found a thick journal with faded pages and a rectangular wooden box adorned with intricate carvings. Opening the journal, Caitlin saw that it was indeed her mother’s diary, filled with entries from when she was much younger. Caitlin knew she’d have to sit down and read it properly later. Next, Caitlin opened the wooden box. Inside, she found a wrapped item, carefully unwrapping it to reveal the cover of a book titled *Yun's Aromatic Codex*. Her mind exploded with a sudden realization. The name echoed in her mind like a ringing bell. *Ding* — *ding* — It kept ringing in her head until Sebastian, noticing her silence, asked, “What did you find? Why are you so quiet?”

Her scent lingers faintly in the hallway, growing stronger as I get closer to the library and I walk, mind blank of everything but her. I push the heavy metal door open and saunter into the library. The scent of books and fresh flowers welcomes me, a soft smile on my face. Goddess, I missed her scent. I cross the library, cross the massive bookcases filled with books and ancient manuscripts about anything supernatural related and walk to the small desk in the back. That's where I find her, sleeping and hidden between high book stacks and piles of manuscripts. She lays with her head atop of some notes, her arm folded under her head as a pillow and an empty coffee cup on the only free spot on

She hoped Asher wouldn’t return before she found it or else this will be extremely embarrassing. From what she gathered from Stephen, the object she is searching for should be a book. Esther quickly went through the books inside the study. Her heart was beating fast the entire time, making her feel as though she was committing thievery.
