Straining against Ulna’s grip, the beetle bucked again as Marcia started to slice upward toward the beast’s head, orange blood beginning to flow from the deep cut she was making. ‘Tell Marcia to steer clear of the blood, it’s called a lava beetle for a reason, they live in magma and their blood is as equally hot, so if you touch it, your skin will melt,’ Fafnir said, dashing forward to grab the beetle’s now distracted head to prevent further bucking.

I tip-toe and take it out. I look around and finally settle down on a short ladder, which I hadn’t noticed before and open the book. I skim through and to my dismay, find nothing. “Not a single mention,” I mutter under my breath. I shouldn’t have expected to find much. I take a deep breath and begin to peruse again. All the books have little to no mention of mages. Not a lot of things have been written. ‘As if they will keep a record of a monster,’ Ruelle sneers suddenly, irked. I let out a heavy sigh.

[Zeve’s POV] As I plunged into the magma, I had no thoughts in my head. My body was being consumed by the flames, while my heart almost stopped. It was cold inside the volcano. My clothes and armour melted away, but neither the flames nor the magma touched my skin. They flowed inches away from my skin. I held my breath. The bright red glowing magma flowed magnificently inside the volcano. It was scary how I could feel its heat yet not get burned. It was like one of those dreams came to reality, except this time the one to be burnt in flames was me and not Amor.
