The world has faded out of view and now all I can see is her. She stares at me, and I stare back because I have no idea what to make of this. The person in front of me is ray of light thin. She’s almost see-through. “I am see-through.” My mouth is snap shut and I'm lost for words. I turn around and I can't see anyone. I can’t see Roman. I can’t see Alpha Kai. I can’t see Maya or Axios.

Like he could focus on me. As if… "You..." I swallowed hard, mixed feelings of excitement and fear overwhelming me. "Can you see me now?" “No.” he grunted and I flinched, unsure if what I was feeling was disappointment or relief that he hadn’t seen my face yet. “But my vision has improved a little, too. I’m currently living out my fantasy with the man I think I’m falling in love with, and it’s so pathetic because he doesn’t see me in the same light. My mind goes back to the evening he allowed me to touch his face, how it took everything in me to not take a peek at him. He still doesn’t know about my ability to see and it felt like I would have betrayed his trust by sneaking a look at him, so I decided not to. Even though I am dying to see how he looks. I sink down to the grass and cross my legs at the ankles before allowing myself to ‘see’ again. This time, as I open my eyes, everything seems brighter than before. Her eyes narrowed instantly. “What did he do?” Meave didn’t have to speculate. She knew there was only one person who could make me this way. “Want you.” He set his glass down, finally meeting her eyes fully. There was something dangerous in the way he looked at her. It wasn't lust or pity, but something sharper. “You don’t even know me,” he said. “Do I need to?” she asked softly, her words slurring just a little. “You’re here. I’m here. That’s enough.” He exhaled slowly, his patience thinning. “Go back to your table.” She didn’t move. Instead, she reached for his hand, her fingers brushing his wrist as she did.

And when I noticed it, I slapped my face. I have to take a shower now, I am feeling a different kind of heat. Don’t career not talking Jeoff, I am even falling for you.
