Numbers You Should Never Call Novels & Stories

I reached into my pocket to pull it out, only to find it was an unfamiliar number. I disconnected the call, rolling my eyes. I never pick up calls from strange numbers—they always seemed to bring trouble, either scammers, pranksters, or people I just didn’t want to deal with. Smiling to myself, I tilted my head up to admire the moon, but the call came in again—repeatedly, and even more annoyingly. Having no choice, I answered it, snapping angrily, "Whoever this is, it better be important! Why the hell are you calling me at this time?" I yelled, my voice echoing in the still night.

The phone started ringing. Once. Twice. By the third ring, I was already regretting it. Maybe I should end the call. Pretend it was an accident. I could send him a message later saying I'd pressed the wrong thing, even though that would sound ridiculous because who accidentally calls the same person more than once? “Hello?” My entire body went still. I hadn't actually expected him to answer. For a few seconds, neither of us said anything, and suddenly, all the things I'd wanted to say when I pressed call disappeared from my head.

[“Answer the darn phone!” [“Did you blacklist my number? Arya, don’t make me lose my patience!”] [“Pick up my calls goddamn it!”] [“Why did you reject the gift I sent you?”] [“You won’t even read my messages, huh?!”] The list went on, it was so long as it was troubling. I read these content with an eye roll and I’m starting to think Nicklaus have psychic powers because in that moment my phone screen was instantly invaded by his call. The familiar ringtone almost gave me a heart attack and without second thoughts I placed his number back in the blacklist. I just made a promise to my mom.

I quickly dialed him. “We’re sorry, the number you have dialed is no longer in service.” Son … of … a … bitch.

Rule number one about taking calls, never speak first. Callan’s voice resonated in my head and I didn’t say squat waiting for the fucker at the end of the line to speak. “Buddy, yes yes don’t go all commando on me, I have some friends in town hall who can get anyone’s home telephone number in the spur of the moment. Listen that thing we talked about, being the alphas of our homes? It’s time we got our inner spark so what do you say me, you, Billy and a couple of guys from the neighborhood go camping?”

After a moment of hesitation, she pressed the call button. "I'm sorry. The number you have dialed is not in service!" "Not in service? How is that possible?!!!"

I eyed at her and glad Aiden didn't listen to anything. "I said hello but no one replied and cut the call. You message me this number and I would find out who this person is," he next said. "Leave it. These are prank calls," I said. "Still, you should give me that number," he said. I nodded thinking let me agree with him for now and later I would give him some excuse. And about Ryan, then I have to warn him. He shouldn't call out of the blue. "You guys did one good work; you ordered beforehand itself," Aiden said.

I was eagerly waiting for my secretary to send the message to me so I could check it. "Who do you think it is?" Ben asked, looking at my phone before looking at me. "I can't tell honestly, if the person really wasn't registered under my business number then it's not a client, I have this inkling that it would belong to that crazy ass fucker who gave me the creepy call when We were at the event," I placed my guess. I scrolled through my phone to check the number they used and it was definitely a flacko number, the number was a waste. It was one of those lines that people bought to use and stalk their ex before they could do anything else and then dispose or burn it off.

She pulled out her cellphone and dialed the number saved in her phonebook that she had never called before because she didn't have the courage. . . Nigel was about to sleep when his cellphone suddenly rang on the nightstand. He thought of ignoring it since it was just a number, but then he also thought that it was rare for someone to call him like this, so it might be important. He decided to answer the call. "Hello?"

Her baby is probably the luckiest one to attend her/his parent's wedding, while on the other hand, it still stings to know the fact that Vincent and I are only married on paper. A phone call interrupted me and I excused myself from Naomi. A frowned, staring at the number displayed on the screen. Who's calling me with an unknown number? Should I take it, or should I inform Vincent first? An unknown number means danger for the wife of an underground mafia boss, so I had to make my moves very calculative and smart. I thought about taking the call just in case and just when I was about to take the call, it got disconnected by the other side. This looks mysterious to me. Should I really inform Vi
