Nurse Book Bag Novels & Stories

The kitchen in Margaret Harper’s house always smelled faintly of cinnamon and old cookbooks. Lillian sat at the small wooden table, an open textbook on maternal-newborn nursing resting beside a half-empty mug of chamomile tea. It was nearly eight in the evening, and she had spent the last two hours trying to memorize fetal development stages, but her mind kept drifting back to the cold stare Nurse Harrison had given her at the hospital. The front door opened, and Margaret walked in carrying two heavy bags of groceries, her keys jingling loudly in her hand.

“This may sound a bit strange but I’ve been dreaming about you.” His hand lay by his side and I unconsciously took it in mine, entwining our fingers. Strangely it felt like a natural thing to do and I didn’t let go when the nurse returned carrying a bag of toiletries and a book. “Doc asked if you could please read again. He doesn’t have time to send someone else in to do it.”

Her bag and shoes matched, she even wore light makeup which made her face look bright and very beautiful. "Have you moved the bag on top of the cupboard, Peter?" Leora asked in a very calm tone, as if Jayden's words saying that he was loved by Jayden was a normal thing she heard every day. "That bag contains books I owned when I was in college and now I need them." I looked at Leora with a rumbling chest and it was hard to blink. Lizzy pinched my waist irritably, trying to divert attention, but I couldn't take my eyes off Leora.

Stood at the window and watched the gardener trim something that was already perfectly trimmed. Two years of this. The thought settled over me like something heavy. I went back to my room and sat on the edge of the bed. My old bag was on the floor by the wardrobe where I had tucked it the day I arrived. The worn brown leather one I had carried through every hospital visit, every sleepless night in that waiting room chair, every desperate hour of the last few weeks. I pulled it toward me and started going through it without a clear purpose. Old receipts. A lip balm with no lid. The small notebook I used to write grocery lists in.

"I'm sorry, Doctor. As you think, I'm lost. You know this hospital is huge." Before Jack could continue. The nurse he had been waiting for suddenly appeared from the storage room. The nurse walked while pushing the hospital trolley, various items were on the trolley. "Why so long, really what are you doing?" Jack whispered as he was near the nurse. "I'm preparing this stuff." The nurse whispered to Jack. "Nurse, what is this?" asked the doctor looking at what the nurse had brought. "As you can see these are the blankets, changing clothes, and also the sheets that I will take to the VVIP patient's room, Doctor."

she asked a nurse. “Ms. Stone? Do you mean Dr. Stone?” the nurse clarified. “Yes, yes, that’s her.” The nurse noticed the bag the woman was carrying and asked curiously, “Are you a relative of hers?” “Oh, no. My employer asked me to bring her some soup and snacks. She was worried Dr. Stone might be exhausted.” The nurse pointed ahead. “It’s the third office on the left.” “Thank you,” the woman said warmly, walking in that direction.

she demanded, eyes locked on the red bags. The nurse glared, panting from the run. “It’s for Alpha Mason,” she said quickly. “We had to send for it from one of our old branches. Now move, I don’t have time for this.” She tried to push past, but her foot caught on Isabella’s extended leg. She tripped forward, falling face-first to the floor with a sharp cry. The blood bags burst on impact, splattering across their bodies in a gruesome spray of blood. Soon, they were all drenched, clothes soaked, and skin streaked red.

Why start now when she hasn't even used it in the hospital? Anna observed in idling curiosity as the nurse retrieved a piece of luggage and loaded it with all of her belongings. “Please,” Anna said, stepping in as the girl snatched up multiple expensive magazines. 'Keep them.' Can you assure me? “I agree.” The nurse said “Along with the flowers”, Anna chimed in. “The day and night shifts should each get one. “And the chocolates, the fruits.” She added. The expression on the nurse's face showed appreciation. “Thank you so much. People will really value them.” A gentle smile spread across Anna's face. “You've all taken excellent care of me.”

I made a beeline to my bedroom after locking the door behind me. I was about to kick my shoes off and climb into bed when I noticed three black, bulky garment bags resting on my bed along with four shoe boxes. I slowly approached the bed and gazed at the other items piled on the bed. There was a leather backpack from a luxury designer brand that the rich girls at my high school used to carry. When I opened it, it was filled with student supplies: notebooks, journals, pens, pencils, erasers…anything I could imagine. I abandoned the backpack for the large white bag that was stamped with the campus bookstore logo. Inside were all the textbooks I needed for the Fall semester: Pack Dynamics and L

“I’ll let you know, uncle.” My uncle just tapped my arm. “Good to see you, Alex. Always take care of yourself.” With that, my uncle left and do a few rounds. I called for the nurse who assisted the patient, and I asked her where are the patient's belongings. She gave me a tray with a wet bag. I checked the string bag. Inside, were her laptop wet and cracked on the side, a pencil, a wet notebook, cellphone and her purse.
