I turned toward Nyelle's door and reached for the handle, then stopped the second footsteps rounded the corridor, a nurse appeared with a clipboard tucked under her arm. Her eyes landed on me and I rearranged my face just in time, giving her a small, sad smile, the kind that said *grieving family member, please don't ask questions.* She nodded sympathetically and moved past me.
