I said lightly, “I kind of have a bad memory.” She stared at me not even blinking m I cleared my throat. “Understood.” She nodded once and left me there. Well, that was one feisty woman. After unpacking I headed straight to the bathroom, the shower washing off the nerves, the excitement and the fear. I slipped into my nurse uniform after feeling oddly official. This was real. Seriously real. Since it was still morning I figured I should check in on Mr Kylian I stepped out walking down the hall till I found his door.

His legs buckled; he almost collapsed before scrambling away like a kicked dog, not daring to look back.

The nurses on the floor began to stir awake. Still turning and twisting, cold iciness filled the room from the walls. She gave a piercing horrific cry while it abruptly changed to a demonic chuckle slowly filled with rage. So furious, it sent the three male nurses reeling across the room. Two of them crashed into the two opposite walls while the last one is thrown out of the window. In triumph, she gave out a pealed guttural yelping laughter as the nurse fell to his death.

"That's because I am not interested in celebrity gist so whenever they start talking about those I either wall away politely or I just tune out when they are talking," She answered. "Aha, then do you perhaps know a male nurse? He good me his name but I have forgotten, he kept making fun of me that day and I swore to get back at him but I forgot." He said remembering the male nurse that had attended to him that day, he had forgotten about his revenge plan, he couldn't even remember his name. "There are two male nurses there is Cross and Nathan but Cross is currently on leave so it can't be him, it should be Nathan,"

"I came in earlier to see you sleeping. Why won't you stay here till you are fit to go home? The doctor says you will be discharged in two days." "I don't fucking care. I want to be out of here." "Where are you going?" He asks as I move to the door. "To see that fucking doctor and look for ways to sue him." "Sue the doctor?" He furrows his brows. "What happened?" "How can a big hospital like this employ a crazy person as a nurse?" I can see he is still looking confused. "He moves close to me. "If she is working here, I think you misunderstood it. It means she isn't crazy."

“The team will find something. They have to.” I swallowed hard and turned away from him, facing the nurse I had slapped earlier. She was standing by the door, looking uneasy, like she wanted to disappear into the wall. “What’s the nurse’s name?” I asked her, my voice colder now. “I think it’s Gina,” she replied hesitantly. “Gina Johnson.” “Good,” I said quickly. “Can’t we get her details here? I mean, what does she even look like?” The nurse shifted on her feet.

She had heard this before. She gripped her head as she could feel a headache coming on as flashes began to show itself, but none was coherent enough for she to make meaning out of them. The nurse walked in carrying the information Dr Lorraine asked for, when she stopped seeing what was happening. "Dr Lorraine, you look pale. Have you seen a ghost… is he still breathing." She said rushing to check up on him as Lorraine quickly took notice of her as she wanted to touch the patient but Lorraine held her hand back and said in a sharp voice.

They cut away her jacket as I follow, and that’s when I see it, something folded deep in the inner lining. It shouldn’t be there. I reach down and pull it free. A slip of paper. The handwriting is a slanting, cruel scrawl: You can’t protect her from ghosts. A cold rush sweeps down my spine. Ghosts. I shove the note into my pocket before anyone else notices. “Sir, you can’t come beyond this point,” a nurse says, blocking me as they wheel her into surgery. “I’m not leaving her.” “You’ll just get in the way. We’ll update you.”

I barely hold back my giggle. "My hands are so not dainty." I say then look down to examine my finger. Looking back over at Ghost I see his smirk has grown to an all-out bright smile. Something he should positively do more often. "Well, I'm a nurse, what do you expect?" "Not judgin'." He shrugs. We sit back and drink our coffee, each of us in our own thoughts and enjoying the comfortable silence. Ghost has proven to be a good friend and as angry as I am that Chance was acting like a dick, I'm glad Ghost is here right now.
