Nyx let out a small, contented whine as Knox wraps himself around her, his warmth enveloping her completely. His head rests over hers, his large paw drapes protectively over her side. Nyx leans into him, her body melting against his. “I was so tired,” Nyx admits, her eyes drooping. “The pain...” Knox’s chest rumbles, and the sound reverberates through her. “I know. But it’s over now. Just rest. I’ve got you.” Nyx closes her eyes, her breathing slowing as Knox nuzzles her neck, his tongue tracing slow, soothing strokes over her fur.

Ice explodes through their cores and they collapse, frozen and dead. “Hands!” Rowen shouts, light pouring from his palms as he heals the frostbite numbing our fingers. Askalaphos just stares, stunned. I shake out my hand and run for the door. “Let’s go!” Inside, Nyx is screaming in pain, curled in a massive jet-black bed, her raven hair soaked with sweat. Her face is flushed, exhausted—and stunning. “Nyx!” I shout, rushing to her. Alexander, Rowen, and Askalaphos close the door behind us. I hear Persephone urgently telling us there’s no time—the baby is crowning. It has to be now.

Hera POV I bark the order, frustration,fear and anxiety hitching up on me. Nyx nods and removes her phone from her pockets. Her fingers are quick as she dials. “Justin, it’s me. MG needs Linda’s current location. Fast.” She orders. She uses my alias name to show Justin that it's a mission related request.

"You don't own a Kroltan until you break a Kroltan," Nyx sneered, rolling her massive, armored shoulders. "No blasters. No blades. No magic. Just bone and sand." "Deal," Sebastian replied smoothly, his hands resting loosely at his sides. Nyx didn't hesitate. She exploded forward with terrifying, explosive speed for a creature her size. She closed the distance in a fraction of a second, throwing a devastating, wide right hook aimed directly at Sebastian’s head. A blow that could shatter a boulder.
