Caitlin sat on her bed, staring down at the open container in surprise. Inside it lay a delicate scroll, curled up, and sealed in wax. On the wax was an insignia of a small, ancient cross, one which Caitlin immediately recognized as identical to the design of the small silver cross that she wore around her neck. Caitlin reached down and felt her necklace now as she looked at the symbol, and felt comforted to know that it was still there. She reached out and took hold of the scroll. It was brittle, written on a hard parchment, and yellowing. It looked ancient.

The rustling sound commenced but this time with a wild cry, “Get her!” I instinctively ran in the opposite direction, struggling hard to lift my legs. I tripped on a large root but, before I could pick myself up, I yelled. A sharp pain developed behind my right leg. I looked back to find an arrow stock inside of my leg. I screamed in pain as I began to bleed. The more I tried to move, the more pain I felt as though my bones were dislocated. The area around the arrowhead became green. Then I realized it was wolf’s bane. I found three men approaching me as one of them towered over me standing at akimbo as he roared, “Who would have thought our paths would ever cross again, Athena?”

He handed it to Ophelia along with a pen, gesturing for her to take them. Ophelia hesitated but took the paper. She stared at the white paper and suddenly felt overwhelmed by its emptiness. She took a deep breath as she leaned forward to use the table before her for support. She placed the paper and awkwardly held the pen as she brainstormed her mind into recalling at least the basic shape of the insignia. ‘A cross, thorns, roses,’ she remembered, her hand getting the work on the paper.

The towel tied around his waist and his hair dripping wet was making her center crave for his touch. “Are you just going to stand there and stare all day?” He questioned in a miffed tone and she cleared her throat. “Leah will be coming in late today. I was supposed to inform you yesterday, but you weren't in the right state of mind.” Olivia said, her eyes focused on his bare back. She sighted the tattoo and remembered running her hand on it. It was a drawing of a cross and an Italian writing around it. What does it even mean, huh?

Imogen's expression twisted into pure fury. She shoved Thomas to the ground with surprising force. "Are you insane? What possible connection do we have?" she snapped. "You keep appearing in front of my husband, and now you've tracked us to my company? Security, remove this man immediately!" She reached for her phone, ready to dial 911. His eyes widened with disbelief. "You were comforting me last night! Why pretend you don't know me now?" Imogen frowned, looking lost. Thomas thrust his sleeve forward, waving the cufflink. "You don't remember this cufflink either?"

A skull adorned with a crown of daggers and eight spears encircling it, and next to it was a maiden skull with a crown of roses holding a sword in a skeletal hand.

She shouted, standing, with her fangs and claws out. She looked annoyed as I didn't believe her, but I had to listen to what she has to say, not because of fear but because of curiosity. If she was going to trick me and then kill me, it was easy for her to do it now, so it's best if I go with the flow. "Alright, I'm listening." I said, trying to be patient. "The cross sign denotes Divine is to see beyond, divine is the trinity and divine is the world beyond. Now, hold my hands as say it threw times with me."

He was thrilled to stand at the door, to have the wind slap through his hair and clothes while feasting on the sights outside. Soon, the train slowed down and came to a stop. Dev looked around. They were parked at some desolate place with nothing but tall grass around. He glanced at his watch. Three minutes had passed. “Are we at a station or something?” he asked the balding man. “Not really,” he answered. “There’s a crossing here. The express train is due any minute.” He paused to listen. “Talk about the devil. Here it comes.” A BLARE closed in fast and SLAPPED past.

Riele said. "Riele Grants!" Mr. Owen called and she could tell that from the tone of his voice, she was in big trouble.

He moved closer to get a better look. Palm leaves. He let the tip of his index finger run through them. They were dried ad tied in the shape of a very popular symbol that Lex had known all his life. “Crucifix.” He whispered. “They were CATHOLICS!” His eyes widened at the sudden realization. He hurriedly brought out his phone and took a picture of the palm folds.
