*Clink* The claws of a nearby Walker slashed at Muscles’ tough skin and shattered like a piece of glass. Muscles merely stared at the Walker in disdain. His skin was not breached by the feeble attempt. All it had done was fuel his disgust. With a snort he slapped his large palm forward and effortlessly separated the head of the walker from its shoulders! *Bang*

shouted Theo. The horrendous beasts and the four clans clashed. Soon there was blood splattering everywhere. Everywhere they stepped was blood. Human bodies and creatures of all shapes and sizes were lying all around. The ground was piling up with carcasses and everyone was starting to move up to higher ground. “ROOOOOOAAAAARRRR!” came a loud cried. It sent shivers down everyone’s spine. The beasts all cowered down and some leaped back into the black hole. Everyone looked into the sky and saw a huge cloud of black mist. It’s eyes was white like the horrendous beasts. “It’s Chaos,” stuttered William.

You would think I would have learned my lesson by now. Crimson surges forward as my bones crack, snap, and pain shoots through my body. One minute I’m on two legs. The next, I’m on all four paws. Crimson loses control as she begins to use her claws and teeth to shred the den to pieces, refusing to ever be locked down here or bow down to another bitch.

Sound warped in it—closer than it was, farther than it should be. Then came the scrape of boots. Not from below. From the bad path. My stomach tightened, not with fear, but irritation. I should have expected it sooner. “They’re climbing,” Lysa said, disbelief cutting through her whisper. “Yes,” I said calmly. “And they’re about to regret it.” The bad path was treacherous even in clear weather. Their crimson eyes glowed in the darkness. Sharp claws extended. Massive bodies tensed. They were waiting. Studying me. Searching for an opening. One attacked first. Its claws slashed toward my face. At the same moment, the second lunged from behind.
