Peering into the illuminated night, she looked out onto the mountain in hopes of spotting Marcus and his pack approaching the castle. She’d had no word from Ben about the rescue Jasper and the werewolves were planning for her, but this would be the prime time for them to do it. She closed her eyes and tried to visualize Jasper in his wolf form as he raced through the woods with the pack, but the pain in her back wouldn’t allow her mind to focus.

Only these were images of the scrolls and certain symbols stood out to her. She was vaguely aware of her team trying to reach her, but it was like the book stole their speed. They were moving slower than in slow motion. The book was giving her the answers she needed and when it was done, she fell to the pavement and started to scream. Her head was pounding worse than a migraine.

Finding the flag isn’t hard. I manage to steal it off Kathleen, not twenty minutes later, as she slips into quicksand. However, I don’t leave her to her fate, offering her a stick to pull her out. I run away though, once I have the flag and she’s sprawled on the ground, out of breath and cursing. My luck falters, however, when I come across two familiar faces. Abigail and Anderson.

But that was vague because I could see clouds and I couldn't see the shadow of the neighboring country. I was just surprised when the Basilisk's flight suddenly plunged so I held on so tightly and it seemed that the fun was taken away from me. A thick cloud met my face. I can feel the cold like ice on my skin. It didn't hurt, but it was cold as if I was greeted by a thousand rains. I was relieved when we got through, but I was noticeably wet a little but it wasn't too bad. I now faced the vast sea of ​​Celebes. The ocean that I know is deep blue, and beneath that are monsters that live.

Though I will miss this sight I do not feel the same about the cold. We fly like a flock of birds using each other to glide through the frostbitten wind. Traveling until long into the night. *** After flying for two days with almost no stops we finally make it to my horde. I lead the group through the north entrance and into the mountain. Landing with a thud I faze into human form. The dragons of the Horde of Fates follow my lead. Looking out the entrance I see Flavius coming in last. Vega lands roughly skidding across the floor. As he un-mounts her Flavius approaches me on shaky legs.

Outside, thunder rumbled faintly in the distance. The first storm clouds were gathering on the horizon. And for the first time since the dream had ended— the future no longer felt entirely certain. Book Two had begun.
