I start calling out Emma's name as soon as I'm getting close but there's only silence and it terrifies me. Ophelia now sat back on the chair hoping she could dig a hole in the ground and bury herself alive. It took her a while to realize the position that they were in and the amount of crying she did. Whenever her eyes catch a glimpse of the stain she left on Noah’s shoulder she is eaten up with shame.

Ophelia froze, wincing, expecting to hear the loud cry she had come to hate so much. But her daughter stood up, finally looked up and met her eyes. “M Ma.” She called with a wide smile that revealed her pink gums and two bottom teeth. Ophelia found herself smiling back. She stretched her arms out and began to walk towards her daughter, but the oddest thing happened. Olivia took a step, and her legs shook a little with her knees bent. Ophelia gasped as she watched her take a second step still. “Come, come.” She clapped excitedly. Olivia did not look up as it seemed all her attention was on taking her first steps.

Ophelia said in a singsong voice as she swirled her chair around happily. "Oh my god, this is a n colour on you, and it looks fantastic," Diana had to compliment her. "Oh my, thank you so much," Ophelia said, raising her shoulders and the smile not leaving her face. "Let us get to work though." Ophelia was not sure, but she had a feeling that her dad had a mule who was spying on her and reporting all of the events to him; she had to get to work so she was not seen as lazy.
