Ophelia's Bodyguard

Ophelia's Bodyguard

He didn't say anything as he drove down the driveway and out the front gate. "Is there a problem? I asked, finally breaking the silence. "Nope. Just wish you would've said something to me before you went to your father." "Why? What does it matter to you if I want to leave the compound? I have been home for months and have not left for anything. I wanted to go out and do something." "Your safety matters to me Ophelia. What part of that don't you understand? I know you've been home for a while. But I mean damn, have the fucking spa come to you. You've done it before."

Second Chance for Revenge: The Reborn Luna.

Second Chance for Revenge: The Reborn Luna.

I'd given them the shorter version over the phone, but there were things that just didn't sink in as long as you weren't listening to it while face-to-face. At some point, my mother's eyes filled with tears and she broke into sobs. My father touched her back, rubbing gently. "Why would she do that?" she asked. "Why would she do such a thing to her own family?" I sighed. It had taken me a while to accept the fact that Ophelia didn't care about our family, but now that the truth had sunk in, it was easy to shrug and say, "I guess she wasn't who we all thought she was. To put me through all that—all that pain, just for something that she could have gotten by honorable means . . ."

The Perfect Duchess Dies At Dawn

The Perfect Duchess Dies At Dawn

he had roared at the head chef. And now Damian was bringing it to me, trying to win me over. "Get out," I said flatly. "Mother..." Damian looked at me, wounded. "Don't you want this family anymore? The duchy needs you! Father and I know we were wrong! We'll do anything to make it up to you, I'm just begging you, please don't do this to us..." I ignored him and waved to the guards outside my door. "Young Lord, it's time to leave. The Duchess needs her rest."

Once His Pawn, Now His Brother’s Obsession— Too Late, Ex!

Once His Pawn, Now His Brother’s Obsession— Too Late, Ex!

“You’re a joker if you think she’ll sign those documents you’ve prepared. Didn’t you hear her? She knows about us.” “But not about Alia. It’s still controllable. Ophelia loves me and with a little assurance, she’ll believe me again.” They spoke in hushed tones. “And if she doesn’t?” “She will.” He faltered and then his voice grew thicker. “If she doesn’t. I’ll have to get her signature one way or the other. Afterwards, I’ll send you and Alia abroad for the meantime.” “Will you come with us?” “For now, no.”

Blood and Darkness

Blood and Darkness

They are good people, you know that. 'They are good people, yes. But do you have to sacrifice yourself? You don't know what you are doing, Ophelia.' 'Of course I know what I'm doing.' 'No, you don't. Do you think I don't know the real thing here? You are already in love with His Highness that is why you are willing to sacrifice yourself for his happiness. But didn't you think how he would feel if you would leave? And what about you? You will end up hurting. You will be caged in a marriage you don't want, you will have to settle for a life you never wanted. If you haven't lost your mind yet, I don't know how I would call your case.'

Siren's blood

Siren's blood

Naiad said boldly. “If Ophelia doesn’t want to go find someone else, but it your daughter’s choice.” “Huh…” Naiad sighed, ‘Ophelia seemed to always be in trouble all because of that spoilt brat’, she thought. She had walked to her daughter’s room to make sure that Ophelia refused his majesty’s decree, the queen went to land and came back dry and dead. “Mother, what brings you here?” Ophelia asks, hiding the bag she had packed to help Avisa escape, which was plan B.

Fate & Chaos

"That's why your mother left." "That can't be the end of the story," I leaned forward. "You can't expect me to believe that this is all to it." "All you need to know is that Ophelia went to great length to get the power she has now. That's why she was banished. The temple can't grant her access. Its magic is very ancient." "Even if she gets enough power like that of a deity," "Where did you get that from?" she asked. "I don't know."

The Lycan Brother’s Shared Mate

The Lycan Brother’s Shared Mate

“Is someone coming?” “I would rather not wait around and see.” In my bedroom, I find Ophelia sat on my bed. Her cheeks were stained with her tears, her eyes a little puffy from the crying. “You’re leaving?” She chokes out. “We have too, it’s not safe here. Come with us!” “This is my home.” “It’s my home too, but we don’t know what Quinn has planned. Ophelia, he does this, he takes over packs, moving in his own Lycans. We can't stay."

The Mystery Of Myth.

The Mystery Of Myth.

Reed thought because Ophelia was raised in an orphanage so without the support and protection of her parents, being with many other children made her face society quite early; that’s why she is like that. But he overthought because the reason why she is like this isn’t that. He heard Ophelia explaining, “No, maybe because he got the help he needed, a psychiatrist’s help, so now even though he isn’t back to reality, at least the beast in him which made him bloodthirsty has vanished, now what is left is just a body.” Her words are a little bit philosophical, and her words are a little bit spiritual.

Lycans of Lunar Isle

Lycans of Lunar Isle

Jude Ophelia was furious. Considering I was the one who made her feel that way, and she was my reason for existing, I should have felt guilty, right? Really, I blamed her father. He was the one that introduced her to that potion instead of getting her the help she needed. I wasn’t exactly the biggest spokesperson for mental health, but I made a promise the night I lost Ophelia and that was to never ignore the signs. Our girl was struggling, and if we could see it then surely her own flesh and blood could.

What can I say? Jane Doe has done it again! A beautiful compelling suspenseful romantasy with all the things I love! It’s not even completed but I can’t wait for more! Dark mysterious alluring witch/werewolves with sexy compelling characters that draw you in and make you drool!

I’ve read lots of supernatural books but this one is the best I’ve read! It’s got little bit of everything, it deserves way more recognition than it has gotten. Jane out did herself with these last two new books . Extremely talented writer. Give this book a shot you won’t regret it.

Mga Madalas Itanong

Okay, look, it's not that she 'can't' leave in a physical sense—the doors aren't locked. The real trap is a mix of debt, reputation, and that weird, creeping obligation the aristocracy is so good at manufacturing. Her family basically sold her into this marriage to settle their own financial ruins, so if she bolts, they're utterly ruined. The Duke's family also holds some kind of leverage, maybe documents about her father's past failures or something. It's less a cage and more a web; every time she thinks about running, another strand sticks to her.

Then there's the psychological stuff. Where does a gently-bred lady with no money and a scandalous divorce go in that society? Nowhere good. The story spends a lot of time on the slow erosion of her spirit. She starts out defiant, but the constant gaslighting and isolation in that huge, cold mansion make her doubt her own reality. Leaving starts to feel impossible because they've convinced her she has nowhere to go and that the problem is her own instability.

Honestly, I found it the most frustrating part of the book—I kept yelling at the pages for her to just go to the stables, take a horse, and ride. But the mechanics of the entrapment are sadly pretty historically accurate for women in those positions.
