The lady nodded and gave it to him. Edwin approached the door and tried to unlock the door with the key but no matter how many times he tried the door was not unlocked. The Key is not working.

At last he said “You left without saying anything.” “I was afraid.” I said “Of me?” “Of. . . everything.” “And now?” I looked him in the eyes. “I realize now that I can no longer run.” He threw his hear back and laughed and then weakly he pointed at a drawer next to the couch. “Crack it open.” I did. There was a heavy old gold key inside. It had an old world appearance and seemed more at home in a castle than the ruins of a vanished empire.
