The music died with a screech of feedback. From a service entrance near the dance floor, three massive, muscle-corded Rottweilers burst into the room. Maybe they had been sent for someone. It didn’t matter anymore. Chaos erupted. Tables overturned. People screamed, scrambling, a panicked herd. My brain short-circuited. Time fractured. Both men who were trying to misbehave with Pashika and Maria flew away in the air and then collapsed on the floor as they moaned loudly in pain.

Suddenly, Miriam's face changed drastically, and her entire body began to tremble violently. She then collapsed heavily to the ground, curling up in pain. Most horrifying of all, a disgusting yellowish-white pus began oozing from beneath her sleeve. Then, tiny white maggots started wriggling out frantically. The banquet hall erupted in an uproar, with shocked screams rising one after another.
