Old Wounds Novels & Stories

Lynda said as she helped Nelvan sit on the edge of the bed, then slowly laid him down, not forgetting to look at the stitches on Nelvan's stomach that had reopened and even started bleeding. Lynda became more panicked; she immediately unpacked Nelvan's medicine bag and took out other medicine before removing the T-shirt Nelvan was wearing to make it easier for Lynda to treat Nelvan's wound. "How did your wound reopen like this?" Lynda said. Nelvan didn't do any heavy activities, so why did his wound reopen? Was it because he showered earlier? Carefully, Lynda treated the wound on Nelvan's stomach and replaced the bandage. Lynda's palm touched Nelvan's very hot forehead.

she said, her voice low but firm. She added, “I never thought for once that a day would come where they'd ever fade away” The old woman’s face brightened, she stepped closer. “Good. That means the medicine is working.” “Scars are like stories written on skin,” she said. “Sometimes they whisper, sometimes they scream but always, they remind” Anana lowered her eyes. “I don't want to be reminded.” The old woman said softly, her fingers already moving to prepare her satchel of ointments. “But healing doesn't mean forgetting, child.”

Still healing. But Kael had learned something important. He had learned that even the oldest wounds could be healed. If you were willing to listen.

It was while I redressed his wounds that I first noticed it. The gash was jagged, angry, and ancient in appearance. It slashed diagonally across his chest, cutting through the sculpted planes of muscle like a scar etched in defiance of time. Unlike the claw marks that had already begun to fade, or the fresh tears of flesh I had stitched with shaking hands, this wound was different-older, unnatural, deliberate. It seemed almost alive beneath my fingers separated by gloves, ridged and raw in a way that made my skin prickle.

Her lips trembled, but she stayed quiet, letting me pour it out. “You were gone for years,” I said, my throat tight. “You weren’t there when I needed you most. Even if you’re telling the truth now, even if you’re finally being honest… do you really think that erases everything? Wounds don’t just close because you said sorry. They’re still open. They’re still bleeding.”

Their own relationship had healed alongside their daughter's heart, old wounds finally closing as they worked together toward common purpose. "They'll be back tomorrow," Franco noted, checking his calendar. "Do you think we should tell them about the breakthrough?" Eliana smiled, thinking of the message they'd received that morning—the grainy ultrasound image attached to a text that simply read: From wounded hearts to new beginnings. Due in winter. "Let them enjoy their final day of peace," she decided. "Some news can wait."

' he thought. "This wound should be three years old. Burns are already difficult to heal without leaving scars, plus her wounds were not properly treated at that time. If you want to leave no scars at all, I have to go back and study it." Jaeden said truthfully. "So, is something wrong with Renea? Will her life be in danger or something?" Richard asked worriedly. The moment he said those words, he got two biting cold rays from Aron and Kevin and also an idiotic look from Jaeden.

Now looking at it, it does not appear to have healed even in the slightest to begin with. “It is the rogue wolf,” Adrian breathed out, his tone knowing but cold. “We still have not figured out yet, but there seems to be some sort of genes in the new rogues that have been around lately. Their wounds are dangerous, they do not heal easily even with wolf healing.” He explained, as he went about cleaning the wound to get rid of the blood there.
