Dark energy lashed out at me again, trying to bind my powers once more. I laughed. The sound came out harsh and foreign to my own ears. Their chains shattered against the storm inside me. I raised both arms. The earth split wide open beneath their feet with a deafening crack. Three of them fell into the chasm before they could react. Their screams cut short as jagged rocks crushed them below.

I sighed as I closed the door and I plopped down on the couch. I could hear the lady and Alastair arguing in the room but I didn't care. I was watching cartoons when the door slammed open. The woman stormed out of the room and pretty much ignored me. Alastair came out after a few seconds, he sighed as he settled down next to me.

"Tomorrow morning, eight o'clock. Report to the library. Basic literacy class starts then. After that, you'll be learning a lot more than just words." Leo frowned hard. "Why do I need any of that?" ' I say sincerely. 'But you did. Now you have to apologize. ' He commands me. 'I am an Alpha Lamar, I cannot apologize to an Omega. It's unheard of.' I say. I may be remorseful, but my ego can't allow me. She will have to be okay on her own. Lamar recoils in my mind angrily. As I continue gulping down my scorch, I hear a tiny voice at the back of my mind. “Help me.” The voice says. I recognize it immediately, it's the same voice I heard in Westwood. I run outside, Lamar already back from his short trip.

His voice was low and threatening now. “Y-you!” I immediately grabbed Constantine’s hand and shook my head. Then I bowed a little to the annoying Elder. “Elder, as Beta Cameron said, let’s trust in his plan. He has prepared everything.” The Elder finally sighed. “I’ll trust you, but only if you immediately fix the problem you created.” He pointed at me while talking with Constantine, obviously ignoring me. “I’m worried that this seductress has clouded your mind. Choosing a mere Omega to a Delta, well, the future Beta, is a bad deal.”

How did you break out of it?” He asked, out of curiosity. “Melissa’s voice. I heard her voice. It sounded pitiful. All she did was voice out her name.” “Oh, goodness. Melissa must have gone through a lot by now. The moon goddess enabled you to hear her distress.” Diego said. “Exactly. I can’t believe that I almost got wedded to that were-snake! I need to save Melissa and we need to get out of here as soon as possible.”

Zeph’s POV The next day, as I walked down the hallway, lost in thought, someone blocked my path. Karex. She gave me a smug smile as she crossed her arms. Her eyes were filled with pride and confidence, making me feel sick. "Not so proud now," she sneered, her voice dripping with mockery. "Being an omega that is seen as a curse suits you." Ah. So her father told her. “And being a delusional person suits you too,” I replied. Just because I was given an order, doesn’t mean I will tolerate someone’s stupid attitude.
