Maverick's POV “Huh?” I repeated. “What's wrong?” I closed the file I was holding, and I was planning to stand up to meet Blue. She looked tired and angry, but I couldn't place what it all had to do with me. I hadn't even crossed my boundary, I was on the couch. “Don't make me repeat myself. Leave now!” Blue growled at me, and the red in her eyes showed up. Just when I had thought that we were finally having a connection of some sort, she does this?

I explained to him. "Nice excuse." He nodded to himself, appreciating my lie. "Thanks." "Did you experience anything new?" "No, I mean the headaches have gone too. No fever." I said. "That's great." Drew looked at me. "Hmm." I said, looking at him too. The rest of school goes in a blur. We meet in the parking car and he drives to his place. I turn the music on. "What song is that?" Drew asked. "Teeth by 5 seconds of summer. Why?"

" After hearing what Josie said, the young woman wiped away her tears. She stared at Josie for a moment. Her expression turned furious. "It's you! You're in the photos too!" She pulled out a stack of photos from her bag and shoved them all into Josie's hands. A few photos slipped down and landed at my feet. I glanced at them and immediately felt nauseous. They were all photos of Alex with different women. One of them was Josie. People passing by became curious. They leaned over to look and immediately retrieved their phones to take photos. When Josie saw the intimate photos of herself and Alex, she screamed.

She sighed heavily as she flung her head back in frustration “I just….” “I know you don’t trust her or want to and that’s fine, but remember Blue moon isn’t just known for its strong warriors, it’s also known for the mercy we offer where its due, and I feel Zara’s due to be shown mercy at this point” I tried to persuade her softly, just so she could feel a little more at ease with Zara being out there. “Ok, I’ll give her time, but I’ll never fully trust her, even if she does prove she’s not going to do anything”

“Also, you make sure you call or text me in case anything comes up.” Alex managed a smile. “Sure then.” “Blue,” Seb moved closer to him to cup his face in his hands one more time. “You know you don’t have to pretend to be strong, right? Whatever it is, we’re going to get through it together, okay?” “I know.” “Alright. I’ll go risk my life now then,” Seb gave him a final smile before moving to the window. “Do take care of yourself, Blue.” “Sure.” He watched him climb the window, jump down and make his way out. Immediately he was out of sight, Alex shut the window, locked his room door and crouched on the floor, allowing himself wallow in a pool of his own thoughts.

Clothes are flung everywhere, and there's a pyramid of beer cans on the table. "This... is not going to work," I mutter, stepping into the living room. "What?" he shrugs. A bright pair of blue panties catches my eye. Using my pointer finger and thumb like tweezers, I tug them out of the gray chair and hold them up. They're so small I couldn't fit one leg in them. Is that the kind of girls Max is into?

We both shared the same temperament with being excited. “Oh! The plot thickens!” I said as I listened intently. I had only seen the other Ancient One a few times before. He had blood-red hair and the same silver eyes as his sister. Though, unlike her, he seemed far more reserved. He would often sneak away to get out of the rule of her thumb. “Does that mean he’ll be coming back to the fold to join his mate, then?”

Blue did little more than stare at her own reflection in the empty plate in front of her. Only when Anya re-emerged with a teacup of coffee—sans milk—and Marian took the very same seat at the end of the table did she finally look up. This time, the woman wore a plum-colored dress, far more modest on the chest, her hair secured in a neat bun. And as Blue glanced towards the woman, she couldn’t help but feel she was staring straight into a mirror, gazing upon the horrid, twisted future she faced. She stared straight back into her plate.
