I went back to my shelf and took out more books, stuffing them into my carry-on.
“Our flight is twelve hours, which means we have twelve hours plus to read as many as we can."

"If you read one book, I will grant one wish."
She narrowed her eyes at me as if she were trying to weigh the authenticity of my words. “I promise."
“So two books mean two wishes?” she asked, and I nodded. A plotting smile climbed her lips, and I was already regretting my decision.
“So do we have a deal?”
“Of course we do," she said, and I could see all the wheels in her mind working for all the wishes she was going to ask when she read the books.
