Then, Mac did something unexpected. “Maybe we should take her.” I turned to him, frowning. “What?” Yuri’s reaction was instant. “Are you kidding me? Opal killed my parents!” Her voice cracked with emotion. “She can’t come with us. She’ll escape, or worse—turn on us.” “Relax,” Mac said, his tone level. “We need to stop this enemy before they come for us.”
