An invisible force clenched my heart in a merciless grip. Beads of sweat rolled down my forehead like raindrops. Every tick of the clock hammered against my chest, each second a tormenting reminder of the passing time. I picked up the paper card with trembling hands, my lips quivering as I forced myself to speak. "There's still time," I said, my voice shaky but desperate. "We're withdrawing money from different banks. The amount you're asking for is too much—it takes time to gather it all."

Abby comments thoughtlessly before she realizes how insensitive that might be to say to the man who just professed his long standing love for her. Yet he just laughs it off. Pushing off of the concrete to stand up, he offers her a hand which she takes. He pulls her into a hug and she wraps her arms around him, savoring the old familiar feeling of being in his arms. I wish I had something. "25th Jan is International Hug day. I thought I'd celebrate it with you." He said.

The type that has people who love and appreciate me. "GROUP HUG!!" they shouted. I was in tears because of their hug. "Guys... I'm hurting." I said. "It's okay Kimora, we're here for you..." Ycson replied. "He's right, Kim. We will always support and be here for you." "That's not what I meant....Guys..." "Kim, don't talk. We know you're hurting so we're here to comfort you." "Guys... Sighing deeply, she relaxed against him and looped her arms around his waist. In front of her, Layne fought the overwhelming panic that engulfed him when she got closer. It was like this every time he tried to let someone get close—his skin felt like it was on fire. Like it was too tight for his body.
