Blaire leaned back, tapping her manicured nails lightly against the table her smirk grew. “I’m sure she has opinions,” she said lightly. “Though I do wonder if she has the experience to back them up.” A few quiet chuckles followed. My fist curled. I had to say anything so I carelessly blurted the first thing I could think of I inhaled slowly. “Why does it have to be one or the other?” I asked. The room stilled.

I raised a brow. They fell silent, trying to figure out how to answer the question, but after a while of thinking, one finally responded. "You can't really blame us if we think they way. Remember,we're still trying to handle a living, and it just keeps getting worse and worse every time. If you ask for my opinion, then I'd advise we do as he says. The people are already suffering, so I would-" he was still talking when I cut him off. "That's unnecessary because no one is asking for your opinion yet. What else do you all have to discuss," they all paused with a deep frown as they exchanged unpleasant looks.

Why should his opinion matter at all? Why should it bother me that he said he never liked me? None of those questions had answers that I wanted to examine too closely.
