"Roses are like you and Ruby like. Ruby with red roses and Rose with white roses." Ryan looked at the beautiful rose in Rose's hand.

Flower 2: "What about me?" I heard another tiny voice. Rosy: "Sunny grow up. Everyone knows Yellow is so loud color. I am more beautiful than you." Sunny: "Who the hell you think you are Rosy. You are so red. However, I am so bright. Also, I have petals bigger than yours. I am better than you." Cherry fruit: "You stupid flowers think you are a wonderful and beautiful creature. We are the real gems. We shine like diamonds with the rays of the sun."

She was used to quiet nights, stars, warm porches—not city rooftops, neon lights, and mysterious neighbors. Inside, the elevator hummed as it climbed to the tenth floor. Those were blissfully naive times. Issabelle was in awe, she had never seen a room so extravagant, filthy but extravagant. She was watching Rose to see what emotions would show on her face as she felt the bed linens and picked up the opal brush that still had strands of her mother’s hair. Soon ivory closes her eyes and falls asleep. ‘Is she okay’ Alfred asks. ‘Yes’ indigo says checking her vitals. They all sigh in relief. ‘So is the rabbit our dinner’ Chevy asks. ‘Yes’ Alfred replies ‘since I and ivory hunted you and nara should cook…also don’t you dare take the claws’.

My heart was beating so fast I was sure they could hear it over the low thrum of music. "Gentlemen," Lorenzo began, his voice carrying that smooth authority that made people listen whether they wanted to or not. "I'd like you to meet Ellie Knight." He paused, and I felt his eyes on me even though I was staring at my hands folded in my lap. "She's officially a Black Rose now, under our protection." The words settled over the table like a heavy blanket. I didn't know what being a Black Rose meant, but from the way the three strangers straightened in their seats, it was clearly something significant. Something that changed how they looked at me.
