The Bad Gentleman
Like something’s supposed to be there.
“What’s this space for?” I ask Christian, pointing at the area with the exotic pen in my hand. I raise my head to meet his eyes, only to find them staring at the certificate intently.
“An error maybe?” His answer is quick. Too quick.
I hesitate for half a second, then nod because it seems plausible.
With a shake of my head, I sign away on the document, then Christian leans forward to do the same, and afterwards we head out of the church hand in hand, with the officiant, the lady, and Arnold congratulating us as we go into the car.
