he gave me hand shake and introduced himself, "William Carter. I have drawn up the papers requested by Mr Rodriguez. I have all the condtions both of you requested. You can read over it if you would like and sign it if everything is to your liking." He handed me a neatly printed and stapled contract. I read it over, making sure what I requested was in it, especially the one about the job. It had both our names, how long this would last, the rules and regulations that had been placed upon this marriage and many other things I wouldn't understand even if you had a gun to my head. I put the paper against the car and signed on the dotted lines. Turning around, I gave it back to William and said,

And I couldn't find the line between the two. "Mr. Cole?" The clerk was looking at me. "Signature here." I signed where indicated. Then Sophia signed. Then the clerk stamped something, clicked something, and slid a document across the counter in a pale blue folder that looked entirely insufficient for what it contained. "Congratulations," the clerk said, with the genuine warmth of someone who meant it. "The certified copy will arrive within ten working days." --- Outside, the morning had turned grey. Not raining yet — the kind of sky that was still making up its mind.

Marcus handed him the document in the elevator on the way back up with his bags. Two pages. Single-spaced. Printed on paper that had a weight and finish that suggested it had not come out of an ordinary office printer. At the top, in the same clean typeface as the contract: Household Protocols and Appearance Schedule — E. Collins. Not welcome to your new home or a few things to know. Protocols. Schedule. His name is a heading. He stood in the elevator with Dani's suitcase at his feet and read.

The only sound in the room is the rustle of the papers and the ticking of the clock on the wall, as well as the distant hum of the city far below. I take my time, ensuring that everything is in order. But I’m both relieved and a little surprised to find that the papers are indeed exactly what Arthur said. There’s nothing fishy in any of the clauses—just simple agreements to abide by Ordan laws, to not bring contraband into the city, and to get an Ordan driver’s license within ninety days. Once I’m finished reading, I sign my name on the provided lines, then slide the papers back toward Arthur and gather my bag.

Done and Ordered this [23rd] day of [FEBRUARY], [2023]. [Judge’s Signature] Circuit Court Judge [Seal of the Court] *End of Copy*

I’m doing a good deed here. “We just want you to know that once you agree to this, there’s no turning back,” Valerie reminded me as she pulled out a piece of paper from her file case and then placed it on top of the table. “Yes, I’m fully aware of that. What is this?” I asked with a partial attempt to read what’s written on the paper. “This is the ODV contract,” Bruno cleared, giving me a pen designed with feathers and glitters. “Sign here.”

The folder was heavier than she expected. She opened it. There were six documents, not four, each one separated by a tabbed divider with a label in small clean font. Authentication Certificate. Commission Agreement. Buyer's Acquisition Contract. Artist Obligations and Delivery Terms. Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure. Legal Representative Authorization and Party Identification. She started with Authentication. Two pages, standard language confirming the work was original, that she was the sole creator, that no prior claims existed. She had signed these before. She moved through it quickly.

However, in the end, the emcee handed two sheets of paper over and it seemed that printed on them were the contents of the contract. Madeline glanced at it and there were no special requests in the contents. They were just to prove their relationship as fiancé and fiancée. They needed to stamp their thumbprints on them. “It’s just the standard procedure. It’s not legally binding,” Carter reminded Madeline coldly. Madeline finished reading it and felt that there was no problem with it before stamping her thumbprint on it. When Ada saw this from a distance, her lungs were going to explode from anger.

he handed me the paper with a clipboard and pointed to the places I needed to sign. There wasn't a lot on it, just the name of the business address, owner information and intentions for the temporary need. pretty simple. I filled it out pretty quickly, I handed it back to him and as he looked over it I seen his eye brow lift. Did I fill something out wrong? "Is everything okay?" I asked him leaning forward out of my seat "I see you have Connor O'Neil listed as co-owner" He looked up at me Fuck fuck fuck, now I have to explain why

“That’s—” “Fatal,” he finished. She stared at him. “Then why aren’t you stopping them?” “I am,” he said quietly. He reached into his coat and placed a folded parchment on the table. It bore the Council’s insignia — wax seal half-broken. Across the top, she could make out the words: Order of Permanent Suppression. “They already signed it,” Vale said. “But the procedure requires your consent.” “My consent?” He nodded. “They’ll twist it as protection. They’ll tell you it’s for your safety.”
