She moved deeper into the library, toward the older shelves at the very back where the books looked like they had not been touched in years.
And then she saw it.
It was a large book, wider than her arm's length and bound in something dark that looked like old leather. The writing on the spine was faded, the letters curled in an ancient style she almost could not read. But she made out two words clearly enough.

She pulled it from the shelf carefully, the way one would handle something that might fall apart if handled wrong. She carried it to the small reading table in the corner and set it down. The wood groaned under its weight.
