Oscar From On My Block Novels & Stories

Leonardo's POV When an actor wins an award as important as an Oscar, it's customary to throw a big, lavish party. Mickie is not one to ignore customs, despite the scandals that almost ruined everything. The party is full of plastic Hollywood faces. People who had unfollowed me and condemned me online after the Oscar punch are suddenly on my side. Now, their designer heels click against my marble floor as they strut around, adorned with their hypocrisy. "Leonardo, congratulations on the Oscar. The movie, Gunshot was so good. Made me cry. You really deserve this," a reality star purrs, smiling like a Cheshire cat.

I said inwardly to myself and I stood on my feet for her and responded that I was going to do exactly that before walking out. I made it to my office hoping that I would be able to enjoy the space that I now had to cry out my heart but that was until I was face-to-face with Oscar again sitting on my chair and swerving back and forward as if he was in a race car then when he noticed me a grin covered his face. "Hello, do you know how long I have been waiting for you?"

I had finally gotten a navy blue tuxedo which I will be wearing for the premiere of the movie tomorrow and here we are at the cafe shop next to the shopping mall awaiting the girls? “ So, tell me. What's going on with you?” I turned to see Oscar staring at me with his legs crossed as he sat across from me. “Nothing is going on with me, ” I replied, shrugging as I continued sipping my coffee. Truth is, I was still annoyed with him for making Valerie give him a lap dance. What kind of friend does that? Was he trying to steal my woman from me? “ Nothing? Really?” Oscar asked me with raised eyebrows, clearly not believing anything I said.

“Anything to help a budding romance.” It was a mostly sarcastic response, and Oscar just laughed and shook his head. “I think we will get along.” He offered his hand to her, and shook it twice, “I look forward to seeing you again Lana.” “Yeah yeah, don’t get dewy eyed on me there Ozzie.” Once again Oscar laughed before shaking his head and turning to leave. There was something comforting in meeting one of Bowie’s friends. There were still some things that weren’t shared just yet, and it was fully because of Bo’s inability to realize just how helpful it was for Oscar to know.

Celia whispered as I was getting out. Yeah, I needed to widen that rift and fast. “My lady.” Oscar stretched out his hand to me. I smiled as I took it. There was no way I could lose now. He seemed so happy, so blissfully ignorant. And dad, he was playing his role as the reluctant father so perfectly. Oscar actually thought he was winning me over. “I’d come in but your mom would probably gut me like a fish.” “Yeah, probably,” I said. His face dropped.

I whispered. There was a beat of silence. Then Oscar stood, nodded once like a soldier given a mission, and said, “Say no more. I’m getting the test.” *** I thought waiting for my mating ceremony had been nerve-wracking. Waiting for Oscar to return was worse. He finally came back just before dusk, dropping a small pouch in my lap with a dramatic flourish. “It’s done,” he announced. “I had to bribe the herbalist with one of my last cherry tarts and pretend I needed it for a cousin in trouble. You’re welcome.”

THE PAST. OSCAR'S POV. As I go down the stairs, I'm stopped by Alpha Killian running out of his room. Fuck, I completely forgot that they were here. “Oscar.” He calls my name and I stop and turn around. “I heard the bells, tell me that it isn't true?” He asks me. “I'm sorry, it is true, he passed last night in his sleep.” I tell him and I see genuine hurt and pain on his face.

Oscar chuckled, “No problem, Mrs. Michaels. Let's get you home.” I hopped in the cart, and immediately, Nathan was all over me. Kissing and groping me. “Patience, Nate,” I stated. “I can’t,” Nathan declared. “You are so fucking sexy. I can’t keep my hands off you.” Oscar pulled up in front of our bungalow. I helped Nathan out of the cart. “Thank you, Oscar,” I said, smiling. “No worries, Mrs. Michaels. Have a good night,” Oscar said, smiling back, and then he drove off.

"The night is getting late, Aaron. Perhaps you should rest now. I wouldn't want you to get sick. You know, Philo can't make chamomile tea like you can." Aaron nodded understandingly. "Good night, Alpha." Oscar was left alone in the office. He quickly sat down and took a moment to sigh before answering the call. "Hello." "Hello, Oscar." Oscar let out a long sigh, feeling like it was snowing in his heart. The fire that had been burning all day suddenly grew cold. Then he began to wonder, maybe I should start a chamomile farm? *

I said as my eyes were shining like stars. “What is happening ? You are supposed to convince him to fight alongside us, Oscar.” Amon said angrily. “What ? You think I’ll force my best friend to fight with me if he doesn’t want to? Be serious Amon. If I were him I'd do the same, but don’t worry I’m fighting with you. Don’t be mad Cal,I’m doing this for my parents who passed away. I don’t think they’ll love to hear I’m fighting against their race.” Oscar said sadly. I came to give him the longest hug and in addition to this I punched his shoulder. Amon was so disgusted that he shot some red substance at Oscar but I pushed him away and it landed on the carpet. He proceeded to run outside. Oscar
