Oscar Wars Novels & Stories

“Um, I stumbled into Stacy Rocci. We got into this stupid argument, and honestly, I never thought she'd react the way she did.” “It's funny because this war is going to happen one way or the other but I guess she just instigated it.” My eyes latched onto hers. “What do you mean?” “She shot at you guys.” Katie's standard me like the answer should be obvious. “Whatever fragile truce they had, it's gone. They just declared war.”

There was a kind of respect in the way he let the question dangle. My father nodded once, a crisp downward dip of the chin. “For now.” Another pause, its duration just long enough to reestablish the hierarchy. Then he leaned back slightly, a posture less of relaxation than of disengagement. “There is a difference,” he continued, “between a war that begins by accident….” His gaze found Alexander again. “…and one that begins by design.” The implication hung between us. Someone wanted this war. It was no longer just a matter of pride or territory or even Gabriel; it was a matter of design, and my father intended to be its architect, not its victim.

“I’ll hold them off.” Reina nodded, and they quickly slipped out the back door. Russe turned to face the incoming men, drawing out his claws. “F*&k you!” He had faced many battles before, but he knew that this one would be different. These men were not like the shadowy figures in the forest. They were real humans, and they were armed.

“Finally… I can rest…” Oscar’s hand slipped from the silver pistol, falling onto his lap. His eyes closed. Oscar had passed away. David knelt beside Oscar’s wheelchair, holding his lifeless hand. He had regained Olivia, but he had lost Oscar, the unsung hero who sacrificed everything. Oscar’s vengeance was complete. He had ended the war in his own way, for the family he deeply loved. And now, David had to continue living, honouring Oscar’s sacrifice, and protecting his newly complete family. The war was over, but the story of healing and a new life had just begun.

he pushed her away from the fire. She walked down to her car, looking down at the small globe that her Grandfather used to talk about. It was Native American legend that a place called the in-between existed only if magic was interrupted or used for evil. Many feared it would plague their village, they cast out the ones born on certain holidays. He said when his globe glowed red, a war would cast. Many deaths, many new beginnings.”

"Perhaps you did not hear me the first time." The man stiffens, and his jaw clenches hard enough that I wonder for a moment if it's painful. His eyes flash with anger, and I can tell he is struggling to contain himself. Someone has anger issues, I decide. "Enough of this madness, Hecate." He snaps, sending me a fierce glare. "It's time to return to Olympus. You do not belong out here playing house with mortals." "Excuse me, pal? Look, I don't know what the hell you're talking about, but you don't disrespect Thea like that." Owen speaks up, and as I glance at him across the table, I can see his face is stormy, tightened with outrage.

"If Lord Ozera is the warrior he has claimed to be, I'm sure he can handle a few insults thrown at him. I doubt any real damage was done." I let out a small laugh, thinking about the rancorous talk that went on at camp and out in the field. He was right, if that self-proclaimed Moroi warrior had been anywhere near a battlefield like he said, then my outburst would be nothing but a small sting in comparison.

Tansy and Alex stood on the other side of them, all braced for the altercation they expected. Kayla and Wanda moved to stand beside the other three demons, their arms down at their sides, palms out, ready to lash out with their power. All five soon stood side-by-side against the Warrior, the Warrior's Blade, three gnomes, a coshey, two witches, and a ghost. Rhychard wasn't confident in their odds to put an end to the demons, but no other option existed. Standing with the sword in front of him, gripping it with both hands, he faced the demons. "That's too bad," he said, spreading his legs and bracing for another bolt of power. "I like games."

I fully-fledged ignored him for the whole month but that day luck was not on my side. The day when our Hate War officially started... ****Vote and Comment***
