"It was a gift, on my eighteenth birthday." She said. "The day the Wildings attacked." She opened the first page and turn it around, then pointed at a drawing. "This is you, isn't it?" Kieran drew close and peered at the book. It was indeed, a picture of him, drawn in obsidian ink. Whoever the artist was, they perfectly captured every detail, even up to the crimson red orbs of his eyes.

then he reached for the book without any difficulty. “Thanks!” Izzy whispered as soon as she got the book in her hand and signaled for Owen to follow her. “We’re done here.” Owen walked behind Izzy and stood nearby when he saw the girl asking the librarian to have her take the book with her for a few days. Then they walk out of the library together. “I will have a week of dreading review and exams in a few days. Let’s have a weekend getaway,” Izzy clung an arm on Owen’s arm as they walked to the parking lot.

Annie looked among the scuffed bookshelves of the used bookstore they had decided to check out. Fingers trailing over the pastel-colored spines as they browsed through the parenting books. She knew that she should feel excited about the triplets, but the more she thought about it.

“What the bloody hell is that?” I moved away from Ryker, my eyes were solely fixated on the book. Wiping away the shattered glasses, I did not care if it would hurt me. Once it was clean, I read the book to Ryker. “It is the Book of The Damned.” All I wanted was to get a hold of that book and satisfy my curiosity but when I did, I could feel the power surging from the book, my hands were painfully attached to it. Then the book opened, forcing my palm to hold it up the pages started to flip rapidly. So many images flashed through my mind but none of which I recalled. The book slammed shut and I blinked. I turned to Ryker and swallowed before finding my voice to speak, “Did you see that?”
