I suddenly sat up and shoved Vanessa away. She screamed and hit the floor. I froze. Instinct kicked in—go help her. But I stopped myself. She wasn't mad. Just worried. "Glen, what's wrong?" I almost answered. Then I remembered—I was supposed to be deaf.

Clarissa I was getting fed up with his inhumane treatment towards me. It was clear he would not give up his idiotic idea. Maybe the sooner I got on with it, the faster I’d get out of here. I couldn’t stand another minute in this house and around him. Lucky for me, this troglodyte didn’t confiscate my phone. And just as I was heading for my purse, I heard it ringing. It was about time someone looked for me. Since I’ve been here, it was like I didn’t exist to the ones outside.

The growls were guttural and furious, the kind of sound that claws at instinct and survival. But then something changed. The noise died. The screams dwindled. The roaring faded. Silence washed over the pack house slowly, creeping through the halls like a ghost. A different sound replaced it. Crying. Soft at first. Then louder. Dozens of voices. My chest twisted. I leaned closer to the door, my hand trembling above the lock. Do not open it. His voice echoed inside my head. But how could I sit here? How could I hide while people bled outside? While pack members who trusted me, who relied on me, lay injured or worse?

She returned to the main house, locking herself inside her room as if she were hiding from everyone. She attempted to play the first audio file. At first, all she heard was silence, then there was some rustling, followed by a man's voice speaking in a language Olivia didn't understand. The first voice was replied to by a second voice, faintly recognizable as Ignazio's, speaking in the same unfamiliar language. Olivia furrowed her brow in confusion. She stopped the first audio and clicked on the second file, only to find another conversation in the same language.

The doors rattled as something hit them from the outside. *[End of Chapter 16 ]*

I was stupid to eat it all at once. For the first time in hours I hear voices outside my room. I sit up straighter and realize it's just some of the men that stand in the hall. I slowly get out of my cot, hoping I don't make too much noise as I walk towards the door. I lean my head against the thick piece of metal in an attempt to hear the men outside. "Switch.... boss.... girl.... food."

“I have received the remaining harmony from him and also cleared off my debts. I drop at his feet, no one can save me even if I scream and yell for help.
