The Reaper let out a piercing shriek, staggering back.
All eyes turned to the treetops.
There, perched like a phantom, was a figure dressed in sleek, dark leather. A hunter’s mask covered the lower half of their face, and their silver eyes gleamed with sharp precision.
“Move,” the stranger commanded, nocking another arrow.
None of us hesitated.
We bolted.
The Reaper let out another shriek, but it didn’t follow. The moment we broke free of the mist, it dissipated behind us, swallowing whatever lay within.
