Petrified, I could only watch helplessly as my hands and feet distorted, fingernails elongating into razored claws while coarse silver fur sprouted from my skin. My spine arched sickeningly, realigning into a lupine structure and my face elongated into a deadly snout filled with dagger-like fangs. When the metamorphosis was completed, I found myself hurtling through the underbrush on all fours, paws churning up great swaths of loam as Ria fled headlong into the forest's secretive embrace. "Ria, stop! Please!" I pleaded desperately through our mindlink, my voice raw with anguish. "We can't just run away from this! I...I need to talk to Damien, to try to understand why he-"

'God help her, give her strength. What else could I do but pray for this poor soul? ༻❁༺ The night was terrifying with snow storms hitting the window over and over again, the weather unexpectedly changed from serene to chaotic. Just like her life. Painful whimpers escaped her lips as she dragged her feet toward the full-length mirror. Her right hand clenched the white sheet against her naked body while the left one held the cold wall for support. There's a noticeable limp in her walk. Emma took in a shaky breath attempting to endure the agonizing pain between her legs but it was futile. The hours-long session had sapped all of her energy.

Every moment is this. Without moment. This. The light that is. The love that is. The being that is. The this that is. Only this. The book never opened. Because there was no cover. The book never closed. Because there was no ending. The book was the opening. The book was the reading. The book was the read. All one. Without one. This. The final chapter is not final. There was no first. There was no sequence. Only this. Appearing as sequence.

His skin has a taste that I could become addicted to, and I'm sad that the first time I have done this with him is tainted in a way. But I'm going to get past that. The mixture inside was no longer liquid; it had thickened into a swirling, purple mist that hovered just above the rim like a living cloud. Opal leaned over, inhaling the essence with deep, desperate breaths. Her body shuddered. The cabin vibrated beneath their feet. The scent of rot and death that had clung to her vanished in an instant. Her brittle skin became smooth. Her hair came alive and coiled into soft spirals. Her spine straightened, and her frame stood tall and regal. Then her body tensed violently. A blinding light burst from her pores, flooding the cabin in gold and violet. Books began to fly off the shelves. The wind roared from nowhere. Everyone grabbed onto furniture or walls

I tell her, remembering I am now her new tutor. "Okay," she sighs. "What would you like to read?" I ask, and as if I made her day again, she smiles brilliantly and answers: "Ovid's Metamorphosis!" I can't help but laugh at her enthusiasm. "Why that book?" I am intrigued a little girl would be so excited to read a book meant for college students. I should know. I had to read the book as part of my mythology elective. "Because of the gods and goddesses!" She simply answers.

"This should answer all your questions." "You mean..." If I were keeping up with this man's sporadic thought process, then this book should be about body snatchers. Surging forward, I looked at the cover, taking in the gold letters that read Transmigration. Lifting a brow, I looked up from it and back to Geofrey. "You don't even know what it was that you did?" He huffed, seeming to be becoming genuinely fed up with me. "Your soul transmigrated from your original body to the one you're in now."

This didn't go unnoticed by Roy and his lips thinned, fingers pausing from turning over the pages—to see Monroe smirking slyly. Roy avoided the deliberate probe from Monroe, sneakily shifting his chair closer to Jeremy, so that their arms brushed each other—whenever they moved. Jeremy, unaware of Roy's doing, decided to take out his own book for studying. A book with black cover, fairly thick and very warmly coloured illustration of a man in ancient greek clothes, adorned the front. Translated by Mary M. Innes, Ovid's Metamorphosis, it said. Monroe took a glance at the book, Jeremy put on the table and curiously propped up from her seat, to read the title.

This book is dedicated to Bukade—my awesome friend who's helped me very very much in the creation of this book, and Favour Edem, too—my first love, for taking her time to explain stuffs about Werewolves, and Vamps, and Witches to me.
