It frustrated me that some alphas still clung to the belief that their forefathers' ways were best. The Dark Moon Pack, led by an alpha resistant to change, presented a significant challenge. Despite allowing some technological advancements like cars and phones in recent years, they remained adamant about rejecting security doors in favor of relying solely on their warriors. This resistance was baffling, especially considering their standing as one of the top six most populous packs.

Protect the pack at all costs. ‘Yes, Alpha!’ Limuel and Jack, seasoned warriors with unwavering loyalty, acknowledged the orders through the mind link. Their responses echoed back to Xander like a reassuring hum, a testament to the seamless coordination that had been forged through countless trials. The pack link became a conduit of shared purpose, knitting the warriors into a collective force against the looming threat.

I glanced at the gathered forces and furrowed my brows. “How did we even manage to assemble this many fighters, anyway?” Daniel shifted Amaris in his arms and smiles at me. “This is the combined force of six packs—the Flower Moon Pack, Lockheart Pack, Crimson Fangs Pack, Moonlight Bane Pack, Aurora Pack, and Moonstone Pack,” he informed me. I stared in awe at the sheer number of warriors spread out before us. I had never witnessed a unified front like this before. Packs typically guarded their own territories, their own borders. But now, they stood together, shoulder to shoulder, ready to face whatever came next.

As he came up to us, I got a closer look at him. He had tanned skin that radiated under the sun and he moved so gracefully like royalty. His eyes were deep amber and he had a perfect body. I sighed, what was worse than having three hot men as mates? He stopped right in front of me and took my hand. I felt sparks inside of me as I made contact with him. My stomach suddenly developed butterflies as I felt a tinge of sensation as his hands held mine. "Hey baby, I am Damon, Alpha of Midnight Pack", he said while searching my face. Shit…another alpha. "Mia", I muttered. He nodded his head and looked towards my other mate, "I guess we are all sharing one mate". They laughed.

“We’ve repeated the test enough to know this is real. Nothing will change the results. We need to accept it and move on.” Pa’s fury only thickened. “There is nothing to accept! You are not marrying three Alphas. What do you think the Pack will say? That their Alpha’s daughter shares a bed with three men and bears three Alphas’ children? Whose name will you even take? Or will they take yours?” he spat, pacing like a caged wolf.

Calian spoke, revealing a deep and scruffy voice sending chills down my spine. “I release everyone to go about their normal duties. Everyone except my family, Ahiga, and Mako.” My father instructed. Mako was the second in command. He was also the best warrior in the tribe but was still unmarried. My father said it was because we had yet to have a woman who matched him. I think it was because he didn’t want him distracted.

" I asked Harlow. She shook her head. "It's a whole lotta nothing," I said. "A silent side-piece to a male Alpha as his pretty, doting mate. Packs have Lunas to keep women in line with some false sense of power. It's all patriarchal bullsh*t, and I wasn't about to spend the next chapter of my life barefoot and pregnant while some guy called the shots.

I sat down. The first letter was from the Alpha of Stonefall Pack. His name was Crest, a man I had met twice at kingdom summits and found cautious in the way that cautious men are when they have spent their careers avoiding being on the wrong side of a decision. He had never been a threat or an ally. He had been a variable — something to be noted and not relied upon in either direction.
