Nicholas asked. “Sure,” The waitress said with a smile. “Let me check our system. If we have it, I can tell you where it is placed.” She asked with a smile, “Can you please tell me the name of the book?” She answered, “There it is. Please check shelf number four and book number 301B.” Nicholas went to check the shelf but there was no book. He found other books of the same genre there before. He had checked this shelf before too but he had not found anything here.

I hadn’t needed to fix a thing. The store, The Velvet Page, was already buzzing when we walked in. The scent of old paper and espresso hit me like a nostalgic wave, grounding and intoxicating all at once. Fairy lights wound around the shelves, and someone had placed tiny paw-print confetti along the signing table. I had expected maybe a handful of people, mostly my friends or a few curious locals. Instead, a full crowd filled the narrow aisles, chattering excitedly, books clutched in hand. “Oh meu Deus,” I muttered under my breath, gripping Ace’s hand tighter. “There are… so many of them.”

We arrive to a very pretty coffee shop named Beehive, with an even bigger bookstore next to it. "Wait! This is Dean's bookstore," I gasp when my two functioning brain cells finally connect. Madison nods and takes a seat at one of the little tables outside, "Wait, wait, let me take a look." I walk to the bookstore and look in wonder, it's even bigger and fancier than he described. I don't walk into the bookstore, I just look from the outside like a creep. I can see big posters of a Tundra Magazine, one of them is a huge poster of my mom looking like a goodess, with her blonde hair blowing and her white gown looking like it was painted onto her body.

“You can choose any book you like, and you can read some of them here. We can stay until midnight.” She used to do that too—just linger in the bookstore and read with coffee. The bookstore was also a café, with lounges for customers to settle into. “Good afternoon, Mr. Thorne, Miss Vander,” the store manager greeted, guiding them to the rows of bookshelves. They wandered through the shelves together, searching for books they wanted to buy. “Oh, God. I lost my copy of this book,” Serena said, grabbing a novel. When she turned into the next aisle, her eyes gleamed. “These are the latest textbooks on artificial intelligence. I need this.”

I was stunned it’s here! I entered the bookstore. “Welcome sir how may I help you?” The guy from earlier said. “Where I can find the “Mi Tesoro” book?” I ask. Well that’s my book, a tragic one. “This way sir” Then he led me on the middle part of the shelf. He left me there and I pick a copy of my book. Wow, I didn’t know they bought a lot of copies of my book. Why did they do it? “It’s Red Wrights book sir” A female voice emerge from my behind.

They all stood in front of Novelty, the book store that had been converted into a small book cafe with scrumptious cakes on display. Hazel's hands were flat against the store window, her face was busy looking at the cakes making Gage chuckle and he grabbed Bree's hands in his. "Come on, Bree, we're not letting her drool in front of a window store."
