“A donation from the used bookstore in Binghamton that closed. Paperbacks Plus? A whole collection of Leisure Horror paperbacks. Keene, Kenyon, Braunbeck, Ketchum, Sangiovanni . . . big catch, all brand new copies. How’d you work that?” I shrug, sorting out the tax forms for Bassler Library and Paperbacks Plus. “I’ve known the manager for a while. Used to go there a lot when I attended Binghamton University. She was one of the first people I called for advice when I decided to reopen this place, so when she learned her store owner was dropping the ax, she called and promised to send me her best stuff. So, great donation, sucky circumstances.” Cassie snorts. “No doubt.”

Then, she walked out with a carton in her hand. The wind chimes hanging on the door made a clear tinkling sound. The bookstore was open 24 hours a day. Yu Cangcang walked in and walked around a row of bookshelves before she saw the person she was looking for.

Moreover, those are second hand books. They are definitely preserved in a marvelous manner, which will make it a lot better for your nieces. So hence the discount,” I replied and he nodded. I knew that my answer was not up to the mark but I could not herald him with high hopes. “Come with me. First I would like to show you the books. You can take a look in the contents and then you might decide and make your choice,” I said as he came with me. Then he said,” You guys also have a café here in with the bookstore, right?”

I walked over to the children's books area, I was thankful no one was around as I sat down in a beanbag after grabbing a few books to read. "Ella, stop slouching around and get to work" my manager yells at me, there was no one in the shop while I was sitting around here. I looked up to see a woman standing next to the register, I huffed angrily and put the book away before walking over to the nice looking lady. "Hi ma'am, how may I help you?" I ask the woman, she was only about five feet tall, with brown long hair and brown eyes. "Hello, I'm here for the new werewolf story" she says looking at me, I tried my best to hide under my own overgrown bangs.

I walked into the inner part of the book shop and excused myself after I belched. “This one is Six Thousand Naira”. “If you interrupt mw again, you won’t like what I’ll do to you…” The shopkeeper saw my countenance and left me alone, before going to fetch cellophane bag. He picked up the 2009 Guinness Book of World Records and bagged it, and waited patiently for me to pick another book. I soon picked The Family by Mario Puzo and Carol Gino. I was handing the novel to the shopkeeper, who was already with a calculator, when I saw it. It was a dark hardcover book, with pink and dark designs. I smiled broadly and extracted it from the shelf with both hands.

The husband, i paused at that, did i skip a page? my eyes travel to the previous page yeah, i was just reading on the capo i expected a continuation from there not another topic entirely. when my eyes travel to the bottom of the page it said page 4, on the next page its numbered page 18. what the hell? It seems some pages are missing, when I take a closer look at the middle of the book gasped, more like ripped out. "Some pages are missing" I said out loud.

Stanley, remembering he wanted to pick out some books, decided to go in and have a look. The bookstore was nestled in a busy street but had a charming and elegant feel, like a quiet haven in the midst of chaos. Zara strolled through the aisles and found a book about artificial hearts in the medical section, which she started to read. Stanley came over and whispered a question to her. She whispered back. Up on the second floor, someone noticed their quiet exchange and mistook it for something more intimate. The man watching them had a cool, distinguished air. Even without a suit, he could not hide his sharp, elite presence.

I gestured for him to follow me. He fell silent as I showed him around the bookstore. We walked through the different sections, and he stayed observant and perceptive, taking everything in. I showed him where the coffee bar might work, close to the register but along the back wall. The bathrooms were on the left side, and a hallway leading to an office was on the right. Chris nodded. “I like it. It’s a great idea.” Once we were upstairs, talking became much more daunting. We were completely alone as we walked through the sections and shelves since most customers didn’t travel to the second floor. It hurt knowing we were giving this area up, but Grampa was right. We could reduce our inventory

Katarina POV - Inside the Bookstore "Kat, you've been staring at that same page for twenty minutes." Selena's voice barely registered. I was lost somewhere else. The bookstore was quiet. Madame had left hours ago, leaving just me and Selena to close up for the night. I sat behind the counter with a book open in my lap—one of those dark, filthy romance novels we kept hidden in the back section. The kind with a half-naked man on the cover that would get us fired if Madame caught us reading them.
