“Yes, ma’am.” As she moves toward the flat-screen across the room, I return to the suitcase, pulling out one of Liam’s sketchbooks. The cover is bent, the corners smudged with fingerprints, but inside? Dinosaurs. Rainbows. One drawing of a house with three stick figures: one tall, one medium, one small. He’d labeled them—Mommy, Liam, and Daddy Knoxx. I press the sketchbook to my chest and try not to cry. The TV clicks on.

My dad asks. “Someone unannounced is coming.” My mom says without breaking our eye contact. “8 miles.” I say. My blood boiling in my veins. I turn my back to my mother and look into the woods. “Who is coming, Dora?” Mom asks me. “A man with dark skin, golden eyes, and a tattoo in his right arm.” I tell everyone. “Which tattoo, Pandora?” I hear the voice of the alpha asking me.

A monster. It’s time to pick up Ander. I change into something more decent before going to his school. No car is following me and I make sure to check. He shows me a drawing he made at school. And this is you, and this is me.” “Oh,” I say, running my thumb over a particular part of the drawing. “You drew her grave, too. It’s this cross right here, isn’t it?”

It was not a Leonardo style but it was wonderful and near. Peering closer at the diagram, I shook my head in mild amusement. How convenient that the tree he drew happened to almost resemble the acorn tree I had plucked the frisbee from.

"Really?" "Yes. The pink top she's wearing has a drawing of a baby panda on it right?" The stranger asked. "Yes. That's her." "Then I'm not mistaken. She mustn't have gone far. If you go after her, you can still spot her at the next street."

Nathaniel POV Pandora and I were sitting in McDonalds eating our usual chicken nuggets and fries. As long as I have known Panda, she has had this crazy fetish for McDonald’s fries and ranch dressing. I couldn’t help but watch her intently as she slowly dipped the fry in the ranch dressing, flicked her tongue out and consumed the treat. She must've drawn all these with the things Zachary brought for her, I sat beside her carefully while looking through them one by one. Most were colorful princesses, cats, cartoon flowers, and somehow one extremely violent drawing of Maddison being attacked by pigeons.
