Everything was so new, so exciting, and so full of wonder. As we passed by a beautiful park, I gasped in amazement. "Look!" I exclaimed, tugging on Claus's arm. "A park! It's so beautiful!" Claus smiled, his eyes warm with amusement. "That's the Parque Lage," he said. "It's one of the most beautiful parks in Rio." I nodded, still staring at the park in wonder. I had never seen anything like it before. The trees were so tall, the flowers were so colorful, and the lake was so serene. It was like a little slice of heaven, right in the middle of the bustling city.

The art and history carved in the century-old buildings, bursting with various gastronomic treats, and the culture that had been there on the tip of my nose and I hadn’t explored. If there are some significant hills in the park, then we’ll be much higher still. The advance scouting party is waiting for us at the far end of the parking lot. I don’t see any sign of Kai, so he must have already ventured into the park to check it out. We can only see a bit of the park from here, but the trees look immense—far bigger than anything I’ve ever seen.
