I winked dramatically just to mess with him.
He turned so red I thought he might actually combust into flames right there in the booth.
"N-no! I mean, yes—I mean—not that I wouldn't be—uh—"
I snorted, taking a giant, obnoxious slurp from my straw. "You’re adorable when you panic," I said. "Like a puppy realizing it peed on the carpet."
Bob let out a strangled laugh, ducking his head. "I swear I'm cooler than this," he muttered into his root beer. "In my head, anyway."
