Paulo Coelho The Valkyries Novels & Stories

I corrected myself. “Angry ghosts?” he asked. “People I killed,” I explained. “So Ylva can exorcise ghosts?” “No. But Valkyries delve half in the realm of the living and half in the realm of the dead.” “Kinda like reapers for warriors?” he thought aloud. “In a way,” I conceded. He froze for a second thinking frantically. I turned to him inquisitively. “Ylva can sense death right?” he asked me finally.

Kael’s vision sharpened, carving the interior of the glass cage into brutal detail. The air within the enclosure felt recycled, thin, and tasted of ozone and ozone-charred copper. Outside the reinforced barriers, the silhouette of High Priest Valerius stood motionless, his robes a cascade of shimmering white silk that seemed to swallow the dim light of the vault.

“Then tell me, what is your connection with Valencia Everhart?” I know that he didn't just use Valencia's image to lure me away out of coincidence. There needs to be a connection between them. I don't know how Valencia managed to get someone as powerful and ancient as the devil to assist her though. “I found dear Valencia when she was fleeing from her beloved wolf king, through the forest of your pack lands. I offered her my assistance in exchange for hers. It was the simplest bargain. I'd provide her with an escape, and I'd shield her from those who wish to harm her. I'll also make her only dream come true and give her back her beloved. In exchange, she would assist the Alpha of the Leighwe

She clung to him frantically, maddened by the speed and her own lust, terrified yet exultant. She was no longer Karen but a wild warrior woman, a Valkyrie riding the storm clouds to gather up the bodies of dead heroes from the battlefield and carry them to Valhalla on the back of her warhorse. And Spike was Siegfried, super hero, about to claim her as his bride. The majestic chords of Richard Wagner’s The Ring thundered through her brain, and she found herself singing aloud.

"She awakened your vanity… and your hunger." With a gesture, Valkyria summoned three women. All adults, dressed in white, eyes lowered, aware of the role they would play that night. The air shifted. Ancient power awakened. "Three," Valkyria explained softly. "One for strength, one for youth… and one to seal the rebirth." Vlad hesitated only a second. Pride, desire, nostalgia for himself, all mixed together. Then he did it, and on the third, the world seemed to explode inside him.

The mist from the amethyst formed a protective circle around me – I was electric panic, reaching for my sword, but I could not see through the amethyst as suddenly, it took the shape of a woman – A Valkyrie. "Don't let your foul hands sully my girlfriend!" came a familiar voice, as close as my own heart, as Yolanda, somehow from the grave of death, had risen. She was seven feet tall, with wings and a horned helmet and battle dress, spear on her hands as she stabbed Eleleth through the heart. "For the honor of Freida!" Yolanda – was I mad? – cried, rending Eleleth open to bleed albino butterflies. He smelled of mold and mildew.

“Then I’ll you later than you would expect of me, Valerie.” “I would not expect it.” Casually ending their little exchange on that note. Carlos waves his hand and made his way out of Valerie’s void in the same way that he enters. His gate, hue, and pentagram vanish the second that he exits and back from the void. Valerie smiles in a sinister way and whispers, “Well, I should head on to where I should be.” She then stands, drawing her pentagram, with her gate appearing in front of her. As it opens and welcomes her to her destination, she took the steps and fast arrived at that particular place. But all hidden to the present chess pieces that are performing their necessary role. “Just in time.

Valeria smiled. “Ever heard of the Valkyries?” she asked. “Of course, everyone knows about them. They are very powerful; they have helped with a lot of wars, and they are fierce slayers. I heard the Valkyries and Vladimir are in a battle; apparently there was a war Vladimir was supposed to help with, but the Valkyries sisters got involved and won. Now, Vladimir is searching for them, but no one knows who they are or what they are or where they are; they are like ghosts. Seen only when they want to be seen,” Egan said.

She better get used to it—with Kaia, Zoe, Summer, and Zoe’s warriors, the she-wolf energy in this group could power a nation. While Mom and Mist start sketching a strategy, Gondul turns to another Valkyrie. “Find Selene, Thor, and Hecate. We need them now. Go!” The Valkyrie doesn’t respond. She just whistles, and one of those stunning white horses bursts from the trees. She swings onto its back, kicks her heels, and is airborne—lightning cracking in her wake.

"You drifted." He frowned a bit. "For how long?" She hesitated before speaking. "Long enough that I had to call your name twice." His eyes searched hers for a moment before he nodded. "I'm alright." She wanted to tell him to stop saying that, that he wasn't alright because they both knew it. * * * * * Valkyrie had reached the pedestal, she circled it once without touching the book. "The chains aren't ordinary iron." Kael joined her. "What are they?"
