Paulo Coelho The Valkyries Novels & Stories

" Lost twice in one night. New record." I started walking, picking a direction at random. I knew better than to wait for Dylan or a hero in a shining armor to come take me back. I stopped beliving in those fearytales since I became the Valisteen Princess. The woods eerily silent now, like they were waiting for something. Every crunch of leavez beneath my feet felt too loud, ever shift it the branches overhead sent my pulse jumping. Then, a sound. Not the wind, not an animal.

They felt far-seeing, hazy. “Valerie’s last vision was not of a wedding she feared,” I said, and my voice changed. It became softer, younger, tinged with Valerie’s own fear. I was channeling her. “She saw a face. A beautiful face with cold, cold eyes. A woman who was not a woman, but a collector of souls. A witch.” Gasps from the crowd. Neal and Noah stood straighter, alert.

As the ravens scatter, Grimm appears behind the Dark King, flanked by a multitude of their men. Above, the birds wheel in a dark dance, then dive together in a whirlwind. At the heart of the swirling feathers, Valeria materializes as if conjured from thin air. My skin prickles, every hair standing on end. I am caught between awe and horror. Valeria looks divine—strong, commanding, a goddess I could worship. Wearing a dress fit for a queen, adorned with raven feathers. Valeria meets my eyes. Calm, composed, she offers me a small smile before turning to my father. She steps aside, yielding to the Raven Wolf King, who advances with a storm of birds swirling around him. Grimm walks close behind.

"Partly. But mostly, it’s about you." My stomach tightened. "Shit. I knew it, I just didn't want to accept it." She smiled, then took a slow sip of her tea before setting the cup down carefully. "Tell me, Kayla… have you ever heard of the Valkyries?" I blinked at the sudden shift. "...The warrior women from legends?" Lady Elizabeth leaned forward slightly. "They were not just legends. Once, they were rulers. Protectors. Gods in their own right. They wielded power that few could match, leading armies, shaping kingdoms, and striking fear into those who dared to oppose them."

*I am running* *Never ending forest* *Too many dry leaves and too many trees* *Aggressive growls* *Back aching pain in my elbow of the left hand and waist* *A lot of blood* And... *Myself in the mouth of an animal* "Valen!!! Baby what happened, why are you so terrified? Valen!" he engulfed me in his arms possessively, and with a shed of a tear I lost my strength and closed my eyes. No one's POV

"There is no way they will tell a story that speaks of the existence of other gods. Or a man, made god. It would be blasphemous." Helva frowned. "Priest." "Yes?" "Have you not been told that it is unwise to patronize the elderly." Valerik shrugged. "I have." "Then why would you patronize me?" She studied him. "You already know the story of the war of the lost, do you not? I see it in your eyes. The familiarity. The reminiscence behind your eyes. You cannot hide such things from the elderly pries. Especially not me." "I know the story of the war of the lost, Helva," Valerik agreed simply. "What you have told me, however, is not it. I know that by its real name."

“She was sleeping, started mumbling, and then she—levitated. And started chanting.” Kiyan opened my door, and what we saw knocked the oxygen out of our lungs. Valora was levitating, her eyes completely white as snow, her hair flowing endlessly, and her voice, as she chanted, sounded like the roaring of waters or a thousand voices speaking in unison. Her chants were stronger, louder. “How the hell did this happen?” Kiyan’s shock was written on his face as he started searching his contacts for someone we could call to smuggle Valora out of my room before something crazier happens.

It wasn’t the most logical place to have these ceremonies, but it worked for us. Karma and I both jumped up on the bar using the stools we had lined up for exactly this purpose, ready to get this thing rolling. “Alright you lot!” I shouted out over the chaos. “Tonight, we’re formally patching three new members of the Valkyrie.” The room filled with cheers. “But before we get stuck into the vows and the sambuca, Rogue needs to say a few words.” I looked for him in the crowd, motioning him to join us.

“What did you win, anyway? I hope it was worth it. Fucking with my mind that way. Making sport of me for your own amusement. I hope you enjoyed every twisted minute of it.” “I think so,” he said, shrugging as he leaned back in his chair. “And don’t forget you enjoyed it, as well. But winning the bet was definitely worth it. Because you see, you were my prize. If I could get you to become what you have become, an eager, plaything for whatever nasty deeds I can think up, surrendering to your darker, baser desires that you didn’t even now you possessed at the time, then Holly agreed we would keep you as that. I would own you.” Valerie stared at him, feeling her brows pinch in confusion. “I was

Even the dark forest is shocked to hear that. In the Raven Palace, Valerie is feeling unsettled. After her Dragon wakes up, she is feeling closer to nature than ever. The gold dragons are natural healers and they share a very close bond with nature. Their powers come from all five elements. She is feeling unsettled as if something really bad is going to happen. When Raphael came out of the bathroom after freshening up and changing into sweatpants, he saw Valerie standing near the window and looking outside with an anxious frown. He walked towards her and wrapped his arms around her from behind.
