The Debt Collector's Price

The Debt Collector's Price

I stare at the floor, my hand in my pocket, fingers tracing the bevel of the watch face. The pawn shop is on Vernon Boulevard. High-end pretensions, but the location is gritty. The windows are barred. The interior smells like stale cigarette smoke and old metal. Glass cases are filled with the debris of other people's bad luck—watches, rings, guitars. Other people's sacrifices on display. I approach the counter. A man in his sixties looks up from a ledger. Faded tattoos on his forearms, eyes that have seen every version of a lie. "Help you?"

The Immortal's Diary

He drove away without a word. I was shaking when I entered the pawnshop, Whitney was worried looking at me. I smiled at her, "I'll be fine." I patted her head. The pawnshop was filled with antiques and the mellow music fitted it. "Hello, sir. How can I help you?" he smiled "I want to exchange this for money" I said while taking the gold bar out of my coat. He was surprised. " It's been a while since someone exchanged a gold bar in here."

His Pawn and the Sons of the Fallen

"Thievery is a sin!" "Then I could be the biggest sinner there is in the world." Rydian faked a gasped at the unworried girl and she continued tapping on the, "so are you going to finally tell me what you want from me?" "Are you sure you're ready to hear it? MAFIA DIARIES

MAFIA DIARIES

About half an hour later, she stopped the car in front of a huge warehouse. “My Dad got me this on my 17th birthday” Rose excitedly said as she got out of the car, I was left wondering who got their daughter a warehouse on their birthday. It was by far the most stupid birthday present I had ever heard of. I approached the door following Rose and smelt a very bad rotten smell, “Gosh I haven't been here in so long” Rose commented as she opened the door and entered. I was forced to close my nose as I followed her in.

Hating the Billionaire Heir

Hating the Billionaire Heir

Roman grabs the pizza box from my hand in his left hand and then my hand in his right and guides me to the door. He directs me to what I assume must be the garage. Although it doesn’t look like any garage I've seen before. It looks like an auto store where luxurious cars are sold. I don’t think I could name or even count all the cars parked here if I tried. There are SUVs and sports cars, vintage-looking cars probably a few hundred years old. Damn, Leo would give up his entire savings and Playboy and porn magazines to see this for himself being the car freak he is. “Is that a… pink Ferrari?” I ask out loud, stunned.

Devil’s Saints: Taz

Devil’s Saints: Taz

“I’ll show you my cars and give you free reign after that.” Roscoe told his sons that he would be back and then followed Shiloh over to her rat rod. Pagan followed along and was surprised when she stopped at a 1920s Ford hearse. The hearse wasn’t quite as tricked out as the rat rod. But it did have intricate wood carvings of curtains and angels. Pagan got a call from Repeat and left. He was hoping to get her phone number. Obviously, the universe had other plans.

S.A.S.

S.A.S.

Dust swirled around the tires of Jack’s silver Porsche as it rolled into the open bay of a country garage. The midday sun beat down on corrugated iron and grease-stained concrete. A battered sign above the roller door read: BRUNO’S AUTO & REPAIR. Jack killed the engine and stepped out, giving the place a once-over—an organized chaos of tools, oil drums, and half-rebuilt engines. The air smelled of petrol, rust, and the kind of sweat that came from honest work.

Sold as the Alpha King's Breeder

Sold as the Alpha King's Breeder

"I'll go with you tomorrow night." "Yes, Alpha!" Richard replied, and turned to exit the room. "Richard," I said, stopping him in his tracks. "Is there a pawn shop in town?" His eyebrows raised, but he didn't question why I wanted to know– as I had known he wouldn't. "Yes, Alpha," he said. "There's a pawnshop by the dress shop on the strip downtown where the stores are located. Honestly, there are several of them around, all from the same chain."

I adore this series. I had the privilege to read it a couple years ago on a different platform. It’s incredibly detailed with mostly likeable characters. Plus you get to follow the journey as they grow and develop over several stories. It’s well worth the time invested!

The order of the book is a little confusing, started out with a story about Ethan and Rosalie and mid way through it's like the story has jumped back to were the beginning should be. I love the story but this kinda has me scratching my head .
