CHAPTER THIRTY ONE MALAKAI * * He doesn't take me to the hospital or any doctor. We arrive at his house, and my whole body prickles with alarm. "Why are we here?" "Our honeymoon, what do you think?" Pierce shoves me inside and pulls me against the couch; groaning low in his throat, he inclines his head and captures my mouth in a soul-snatching kiss. Our breaths rush out of us as our lips mesh together. It's a conditioned instinct, I start to lose myself in the kiss.

“ I'll order for some food, just sit down and get comfortable” Camile said, to Kate while she went ahead to get a better network to make the order. Kate sat down,her eyes scanning every detail of the apartment. She turns to the door upon hearing footsteps “ Hey you must be Kate, Camile's friend. I'm Cole, Candice's buddy nice to meet you.” Cole said, smiling at her.

I asked. Mom nodded. “Yes, he knows. He’s around your age, actually. His name is Ethan.” I raised an eyebrow. “Great. So now I’m supposed to get along with some random guy I’ve never met before?” Mom laughed softly, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. “You’ll be fine, Camila.” “You don’t get to tell me that!” “Camila…” “You know I’m not good with new people!” “CAMILA!” Her voice echoed as I flinched, shook my head, and bolted upstairs.

Because the one hanging above my bed wasn't mine. It was new. Completely new. Slowly, I reached up and my fingers brushed against the strings. Then something caught my eye. A small black card tucked between the feathers. My fingers felt strangely numb as I pulled it free. "Kammie?" Bettany's voice sharpened. "What is it?" I unfolded the card. My breath stopped as my gaze clashed with the attractive calligraphed writing. It reads; " You're exactly where I wanted you, Little Cub.

**** An hour later, we collapsed in a tangle of limbs, utterly spent and fucked out. The room smelled of sex and sweat, sheets twisted and damp beneath us. Camille curled against my side, her head on my chest, our breaths syncing as we caught our wind. Her fingers traced lazy patterns on my abs, and I felt a rare peace settle in. It was strange. “So,” she murmured after a while, propping up on an elbow to look at me, “you and Kael have always been thick as thieves. What's the story there? How'd you two end up so inseparable?”

She wound both arms around his neck with languid, proprietary ease and murmured something against the curve of his jaw—marking her territory, announcing to the room and to me in particular that Javier belonged to her, and to no one else. **** “Camila. Here—have a drink.” A glass of something alcoholic appeared in front of my face without warning. I looked up to find Pedro standing over me, wearing that same lopsided smile. “Thank you, but I don’t drink,” I said, nudging the glass away from me with quiet firmness. “It’s good, Camila—just try a little. You won’t get drunk from one sip,” Pedro pressed, leaning in to bring the glass deliberately closer to my lips.

I felt like my soul would drop at any moment now. Along with the sound of the chopper, was the sound of EL's laughter. Zachary nodded but still not able to contain everything. “But how did you know that this is Bulwark?” Cammi shook her head and laughed. She distracted herself by preparing food. It was fruits and vegetables. “I surveyed the area. I gathered a lot of information. And I heard that there’s a girl entered here. She’s a Seacrestian. No one knows her real name but now, they calling her Peony.” Their conversation went longer. Cammi was able to get useful information. It made them more motivated. 🌸

Mason came to me first and tap me on my shoulder. “Buddy, everything is original and authenticated!” Kyle said as he shook his head vigorously. I feel like my heart stops beating at that instant. As I saw my friends get speechless, I reach for the sofa and sat down as I feel like all my energy got drained. My tears started to fell. My greatest fear is going to happen I will lost my family! “I want to know everything about Natalia Novello! From her birth until now. I want you to dig any thing that could bring her down, including her whole family!” Mason said over the phone. He is sitting beside me and I’m just grateful for these two persons beside me.

Damien responded and waited for the knocker to reveal himself. The door creaked slightly open, with Camille peeking her head through the door and seeing that Damien was currently busy. But when Kai turned his head to face her and she saw that it was him, the door went flying completely open. Kai as well smirked mischievously on seeing how Camille responded to his presence. “Excuse us,” she said without filters.amd approached Damien's desk in her usual model-like gait which Kai adored. “As you say, my lovely lady,” Kai smiled and stood to his feet, flashing her more of his flirty grins. Camille wasn't having any of his drama, so she looked away.
