The lunar chamber was a circular pit of obsidian glass and silver-mesh wiring. Sensors hung from the ceiling like mechanical spiders. It was a space designed to amplify the psychic frequency of a wolf—to push a bloodline to its limit until it either ascended or shattered. Phineas was shoved inside. The doors sealed with a heavy, metallic thud.

The silver-gray heart still beat—a jagged, arrhythmic thud that mocked the vacuum in my chest—and all I could feel was the chain's co-living pulse carrying Kael's soul screaming for one last fight. The chamber was a deathtrap of mirrors and mercury. I stood on the edge of the obsidian rift, my nose clogged with ash until I gagged, the silver-mercury stink of the Mother's presence coating the back of my throat like iron filings. “It’s still as beautiful as ever.” “My dad keeps it as beautiful as ever.” Wendy bragged and got out of the car. “The servants have one instruction, actually, it’s like a motto they work by. Not a scratch or stain, or else, the chamber.” She snickered wickedly. “The chamber?” I asked, throwing the keys to her as we walked up to the front door. “Yes.” She paused and looked at me. “The chamber is an underground prison where all my father’s enemies and apparently the servants who disobey the 'Not a scratch or stain' rule go to.”

They felt enclaved again, under the unbelievably negative otherness and thus. Alec kept his voice low. "Stay close. We still do not know what we are walking into." They tread lightly. Their senses were alert to everything. With each step, they pulled closer toward the large chamber. According to the map, the relic was in the next room. The room was significant, its high ceilings framed by tons of old stone. In the center of the room, there was an elaborate pedestal. On the pedestal, a beautiful chest made of wood and inlaid with carving and stone rested. The chest was covered in strange symbols and gems.

The ground trembled as the gears engaged and the iron sheets slid away from each other, and all who witnessed the sight beyond gasped in wonder. To call it a chamber undermined reality. It was a vast space, spanning half a kilometre, and the same in height. High in the ceiling, several bulky nets hung like bloated hammocks, their mesh securing many blue-grey boxes packed tightly together. From these nets long cords snaked down to several red oil drums on the floor of the chamber.

MENODORA'S POV The silence in the Chambers stretched for several minutes…in this enclosure, it felt more like hours than mere minutes. I could hear my heart hammering against my ribcage threatening to tear through my chest. My eyes remain fixed on the mural and it feels as if I am transported to a world beyond the one I am in at the moment.

The warriors followed behind him, some in wolf form, some human, weapons ready. He did not need to ask which way to go. The pull in his chest led him. A stone staircase curved into the earth, turning twice, deeper and colder with every step. Down into the buried heart of the chapel. Down to where something ancient had been waiting for someone desperate enough to use it. There was a door at the bottom. The pull in Xavier’s chest became pain. He shoved the door open. The chamber beyond was lit by a circle of candles. For one heartbeat, his mind registered everything in pieces.

Below the heart of the fortress, they opened a heavy iron door and pushed her inside. The chamber was a box of stone, there were no windows, fire, or bed, just walls and a single rusted bucket in the corner. The door slammed shut behind her, the clang echoing through her bones. She stood there for a moment, frozen, trying to comprehend the change. This wasn’t the servant’s quarter that they took her to last night, and frankly thinking to herself, she preferred the servant's quarter.

With a heavy creak, the door opened, revealing a sight that chilled me to my core. The chamber was an abominable place, dark and chilling. It felt as though I had entered a private chamber of torment. Torture devices hung on the walls, and a lingering sense of malevolence clung to the air. But my eyes were immediately drawn to the massive cage at the center of the room.

Her senses remain heightened, attuned to every flicker of sound and shadow, knowing that danger lurks within the darkness. The passageways lead them into a hidden chamber, a space marked by dust and secrets, an atmosphere heavy with the weight of betrayal. Blackwell gestures toward an elaborate tapestry hanging against the far wall, its fabric rich with hues long faded, but beneath it, the outline of a small wooden chest becomes visible.
