Valeria handed Egan to her; he was asleep.
“You can head him; I will join later,” she said, her voice holding no warmth as she looked away. Grace nodded her head, adjusting Egan in her arms as they all left. It was just Valeria left, and she went to the freshly closed grave, sitting on the cold floor. She looked at what was written on the grave: an alpha, son, father, brother, friend and mate. She looked at the world mate, and her heart grew heavy. Her mate was truly gone, and no matter how hard Valeria tried to cry, nothing was showing forth. She was holding all the pain and grief in her heart; it wasn’t healthy, but what can she do? Crying won’t change a thing; it won’t bring her mate back
