It can’t. I wait as minutes drag. Stuart finally steps down. I try the doors again—and the nausea slams back with more violence. I turn around and race to the nearest stall, and there I vomit everything: the wine, my lunch, and the little composure I had left. Afterward I sit on the closed lid, with my head in my hands.
