I didn't care, I just wanted the tightness in my chest to let go. "Vera?" My head snapped up at the sound of my name. Peter stood a few feet away, a cooler of canned drinks and ice balanced against his hip. He set it down on the grass and walked toward me. "What are you doing out here all alone, sulking?" he asked. "Nothing." I wiped my face fast with the back of my hand, hoping it was fast enough. "Are you crying?" He crouched down in front of me, his eyes moving over my face. Then his hand reached out and brushed my cheek. "Why are you crying, Vera?"

Eventually, I got Peter to relax and he looked at me, sweating and pale looking. "I'm really sorry, Harold. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have. I'm sorry." He cried to me. "That is fine, Peter. You just focus on healing and I promise you that I would take all your apologies." I said to him, "I'll lose my arm, won't I?" He asked me. "Can't say. May I take a look?" I asked him. "Yes. I have fresh treatment stuff in my car I guess." He managed and just then, the door opened and there was Jacob standing there. He looked really sad and before I could speak, he started already.

Honestly, he didn’t feel well enough to be driving. "Serenity, I know you have a lot of questions. I know this whole thing doesn’t make sense. I know it looks bad from where you’re standing, but everything has an explanation. I need to get some air. I’m not well, daughter. After the accident, I’ve been suffering from panic attacks, and seeing you again…" Just as Serenity was about to get out of the car, Peter was already standing, offering his hand to help her out. Puspa confessed tearfully and tremblingly. For a moment, Peter was stunned, seeing the girl he admired in tears. "Darn it! Why is she crying? Did I scare her?" Peter thought with regret. "Please stop crying! My hearing is empathetic, and your crying is bothering me!" Peter exclaimed. He then handed a box of tissues to Puspa. "Wipe your tears away!" he instructed her while offering her a bottle of mineral water. Puspa quickly wiped her tears with the tissues provided by Peter and took a sip of water from the bottle.

I fell to the floor in tears and he rushed to me, wrapping his arms around me and cradling me as I sobbed into his chest, gripping onto his shirt. Peter stayed there on the ground with me until I could pull myself together and finally speak. When I pulled myself away from him, I could see his white shirt was drenched from all of my tears and crinkled where I had been holding onto him. He wiped away my tears with his thumb and looked at me with the most caring, concerned, deep blue eyes I had ever seen before. I finally answered his question, "She wants to end her life." His eyebrows furrowed and his jaw clenched for a moment from shock.

Dampness glistened off ruddy red cheeks as he sobbed silently to himself. He sobbed while missing his father and hid his face on her neck, hugging her back. He controlled himself throughout the whole ritual, but he couldn't hold his tears anymore; he lost his father. This is going to be a black day in his life.
