Rejected Luna: He wants me back
The gem must be in there.
I can't let him escape. But how? Keeping my movements silent, I snatch a heavy stone from the ground outside the patio. As the thief reaches the top of the wall, I hurl the stone with precision.
It sails through the air, a dark projectile against the pale moonlight. The sudden noise startles the thief, and he glances down in the split second before the stone connects with a sickening thud. It catches him square on the shoulder, sending him sprawling back against the wall with a yelp of pain. The ladder topples over with a clatter, and the thief tumbles onto the hard ground, the canvas bag landing with a muffled thump beside him.
