"There won't be a more professional mortician in Greenville than me. I just want Amy to see her son again and for Phillip to rest in peace." Amy cried out on the bed. Wilson's assistant was startled. He said in his native tongue that he had indeed heard from the funeral home that the best mortician in the city was Miss King, who was currently on leave.

But she could tell beneath that calm, he was calculating, bracing, preparing for war. The car finally stopped in front of an elegant brownstone tucked away in a quiet corner of the city. It didn’t scream wealth or power. Instead, it whispered legacy. “This is him?” Scarlett asked as the driver opened the door. Sebastian nodded. “Mitchell Graves. My father’s personal attorney for nearly two decades. No one knows more about the skeletons in my family’s closet than he does.”

The lunch had been largely untouched, which was how the most significant lunches near the river always went, the food incidental to the conversation that mattered. At the edge of the table he paused. Jose lay awake staring at the ceiling. He slipped out of bed and checked his phone in the bathroom. One message from an unknown number. A photo of Elias's grave at night, dirt freshly turned. Then another, right behind it. Camille's old number. I did what you were too weak to do. Jose's stomach dropped through the floor. He wanted to throw the phone. He wanted to crawl back into bed and fuck Camille again until his brain went quiet. He wanted to drive to the cemetery right now and dig until he knew for certain.

Philip felt a wave of sadness as he looked at it. It had belonged to his mother. It had been seven years since he last visited his mother’s cemetery. He did a horrible job as her son. He had no choice. His mother’s final resting place was not an ordinary place. It was Roger Clarke who personally bought a piece of land measuring tens of thousands of hectares. It was built in imitation of an ancient imperial tomb. Now, the cemetery was heavily guarded by Giada’s people. After leaving the ward, he came to the convalescent garden. Philip sat on the long bench and did not speak for a long time. In his hand, there was a phone that no one else had ever seen before.

Philip opened his eyes and the bright light coming from the ceiling is the first thing he sees. He adjusted to the light and when he finally did, he looked around, only realizing that he was still in his boxers. "Ah, Mister Edwards, I'm glad you're awake." A doctor said as he approached him. "I'm Doctor Clifford, I was the one who checked on your wife." The lad introduced himself to Philip before handing the lad what seems to be a coat. "How was she?" He asked as he placed the coat around his body.

I'm not sure how long ago it was when I first saw him, staring down at the oldest, crumbling gravestone in his black hooded cloak. He has completely captured my attention; I want to know more about the mysterious man behind all that darkness. Is he grieving like me? Maybe. It's the reason I've been coming to this God-forsaken cemetery over the last five months since Zack died. He was my best friend and he died saving someone else's life. A firefighter's duty, I'm supposed to believe. Everyone still tries to comfort me by saying he died doing what he loved but they don't understand. I no longer have my big brother to protect me, especially from myself.

I asked Philip while raising my eyebrow, the moment I reach the spot, Philip kissed my forehead. Mr. Vampire’s expression changed the moment he watched the woman he used to love got kissed by someone; he rolled his eyes in silence at the time. “There’s bad news” Philip sighed, his chest started rising and falling after that. I raised an eyebrow and talk to him with my eyes, demanding him to continue. “You know my friend that hired you a few days ago?” He asked. “Yes?” I replied, kept raising my eyebrow in a puzzle. “His wife found him dead in their house, poor guy” Philip took a deep inhale. “They’ll take care of his body but there’s no funeral” He explained.

Grant’s POV I was in my room watching and listening to Phillip, he had left the house in his car. I watched the tracker and zoomed in where it stopped, why would he leave his car in such a rundown industrial area. It made me wonder if he figured out, he had been bugged, I turned on the listening device while I started to see what businesses were in the area where his car was left. The only place that stood out was a storage garage owned by someone called Paddy Maddy. Come on that was not a real name. I found a business with a Wi-Fi camera near the building and hacked into it. I spotted Phillip straight away walking into the building. I carried on watching and soon a man on a Harley rode past

"Thank you, but I don't want to talk about it now, if you don't mind." She nodded. "I hope you can sort it out." I hummed, not sure if he would want to. "Do you mind if I go with you to the ball?" "Of course not; come on, let's go. Johnny and Ciro will drive there themselves." We talked about the mafia and the Gravanos. I found out that they hadn't always been the number one mafia in the world until Johnny took over at a young age and became the capo. Mr. Gravano had always been abusive, but since little Viona passed away, he became more abusive and even started helping their opponents. Something sounded off about how Viona passed away, but I decided to keep quiet.
