talking. It feels strange. But not bad. "Have you read Descartes?" I ask, gesturing to his book. "Some. The mind-body problem interests me." "Me too. The idea that consciousness might be separate from physical form." Kaelen's eyes light up slightly. "You've studied philosophy?" "Not formally. But I read a lot when I was hiding at the academy. Philosophy gave me ways to think about identity beyond just omega or alpha or biological determinism." "That makes sense. Especially given everything you were dealing with."

LIFE OF LIES

LIFE OF LIES

He just read it, but he was not able to place it back just yet. Removing his glasses, he looked outside the windown of his office thoughtfully, with a small smile on his face. It seemed like it was about to rain soon. Shaking his head with the smile still present on his face, he wore his glasses back again and his eyes again went to the same concluding paragraph of her essay. ' Every person has their own philisophy of life. I don't know what my philosophy of Life is... That's what I would have said a month ago or so.

What Nobody Sees

What Nobody Sees

I know some of you had plans at this time, but today we'll continue the previous class, the one where I asked you to write anything: what you feel, what you think, something you want to say. —I still don't see what this has to do with philosophy —a classmate said. —It has a lot to do, since philosophy is that set of reflections about the essence, properties, causes, and effects of natural things. Especially about man and the universe. That leads us to the art of philosophizing. We use it every day, even if you don't believe it. So... does anyone want to read what they wrote? —no one answered—. Since there are no volunteers, I will call on you. Young Willns, read what you wrote —he stood up f

The Witch And The Alpha

The Witch And The Alpha

“I think I was afraid before that if people stopped talking to me, I would stop existing.” The forest dims softly. Not with panic. Memory. The difference matters. “And now?” Ilyra asks. The entity is silent for several seconds. Long enough that the forest shifts gently around contemplation instead of anxiety. Remarkable. “Now I think,” it says slowly, “I would still exist. I just wouldn’t know what that existence meant.” There it is. Identity independent from observation. The beginning of self-continuity. I feel genuine concern curl through my chest for the first time in longer than I care to measure.

The Merciless Billionaire's Contract Marriage

“Just because you can’t see something doesn’t mean it’s not in existence. Take air for example or love." “The fact that you bring up love in every argument says a lot about you.” “There are no absolute truths, Aiden. Only perspectives.” He shot me a doubtful look. “Whose words are those?” “Nietzsche.” “I married a philosopher.” I smoothed the satin of my dress, thinking of the books I had devoured over the last few weeks. “The least I could do before saying ‘I do’ was try to understand how your mind works.” “I don’t have a moral code. That’s the point of my beliefs.”

I asked, folding my arms. "I asked Diokles to leave. Please, if I saw him as Lord Zeus every day, I'd be unable to keep a straight face." she chuckled softly and walked over, sitting at the table. She placed whatever was wrapped up gently on the table. "A bit of philosophy first, I suppose. Many say that the world is seen through a filter of who we are, what we believe, and what we are," she said. "But what if the world around us controls those things? If the world sees someone as a monster, a murderer, a danger to all... Does that person have the same lens to the world as they would if the world didn't view that person like that?" she asked.

A very good read but the ending was suddenly abrupt. After not having an update for longer than normal, I came to check the comments to see if others were clamoring for updates only to see that the story status now said completed. That said, I hope to see other stories set in this world.

What a brilliant and enjoyable read. Fantastic characters, great storyline, definitely a book I could not put down and would happily keep reading if there were more chapters! Looking forward to reading a sequel very soon in the future, thank you author!

The Billionaire Mafia's Slave

He isn't aware that my major in college is philosophy. Mr. Vladimir took a seat and leaned back in his chair, the book still in his hand as he gazed at me. "You know, I've always been fascinated by the works of Thomas Hobbes. He believed human behavior is driven by self-interest and a desire for power", He paused, studying my expression, "What do you think? Do you agree that humans are inherently selfish, or do you side with Jean-Jacques Rousseau, who believed we are born innocent and corrupted by society?"

Warlord's Ward & Managing Mages

“You must not confuse how things are. I have motive for everything I do. Don’t go think me something I’m not. You’re trying to justify being here. Trying to give yourself a reason to have surrendered to me. You trying to imagine that you saw something in me. But the reality is that it is simply not there. Let’s be clear, you take me as I am and envision nothing beyond that.” “I think you’re wrong.” “You’re mistaken.” “You can’t tell me I’m wrong in my perception.” “You are.” “My perception is mine alone. You’re trying to tell me what I do or don’t see. No one can tell someone else that. I have a right to view things in my own way.” “Not when it’s inaccurate.” “It can’t be inaccurate when it’
